This is the wrong attitude to be taking. If you think first trimester was bad, wait until you get to the third trimester, when most women really slow down. Or when the baby arrives and any semblance of normal schedules and household maintenance totally go out the window for the first several months. You're going to have to adjust your expectations, because realistically you're in for a long period of adjustment before you get back to anything approaching normal. Either man up and pick up the sla…

But it comes with its own set of risks. That's all I wanted to point out.

I appreciate that. Thanks.

So why are you bothered that people who have the option to start from a better position would choose to?

Good for you. You found the right guy before you were 20 and found yourself in a position to support a big family. You were lucky.

Having babies when you are 20 is easier on your body, mind, heart and marriage than it is at 34. For some people. I agree with the sentiment, but this is a little extreme. It's not in the best interest of everybody to start that young, and kids who grow up in a stable, stress-free environment have a considerable advantage over those who don't. Delaying having kids for financial and relationship reasons is a perfectly legitimate choice, as long as you keep the biological clock in mind. Fortunatel…

Women want, seek, and sponge the validation of attractive men and are only as faithful as their current options; if she ends up finding a more validating, more alpha male, she will probably cheat. I'm sure this is true for some women, but this completely ignores lots of other considerations that go into picking a partner. Women want the "Ibles," I've heard them called - sensible, reliable, dependable. A player can't be trusted to be any of those things. You're putting way too much emphasis on se…

I'm talking about monogamy, not attraction. Players are bad candidates for marriage.

And the same goes for men, of course. Your gender creates more than your share of basketcases.

If they can do the job, go for it? The physical requirements for firefighters tend to rule out a lot of women, but I'm fine with the ones who can get the work done. I'm more concerned with doctors, lawyers, politicians - professions where gender makes no difference at all.

An equally qualified woman should get the same consideration for a job as a man? Maybe fifty years ago that would have been considered a feminist position. You're not going to find many people, male or female, who would agree with you today.

So all female authority figures are radical feminists? You seriously need some actual firsthand knowledge if you're going to be making claims as wild as this.

You live in the most fascinating warped universe of anyone I've ever heard of. Adult women seem to terrify you. Why exactly are we so frightening?

I should have used "fertility" or "egg quality" instead of "egg production" to be less confusing. Most sources appear to be citing a 2002 European study in "Human Reproduction" that suggests fertility declines starting at age 27 for women and 35 for men. http://www.health.harvard.edu/fhg/fhgupdate/Q/Q1.shtml

Of course it's not optimal. Egg production peaks at 26. But for some people it's more practical, and biology's not the only thing to worry about. I know plenty of people who had kids in their 30s without any problems. I wouldn't call them outliers at all - to the contrary, it seems to be becoming much more common. In fact, I think it's very strange to say after 30 is "advanced age" these days. 40, sure, but not 30. And as for smaller dating pools - doctors marrying other doctors is pretty common…

Plenty of couples wait to have kids until after 30 for lots of different reasons - financial stability, lifestyle changes, etc. For some people it's more practical and worth the a few years delay. Yes, older parents do mean the risks for some health issues go up, but not substantially until you hit 35.

I'm attracted to very forward, aggressive men in some situations. However, if they act that way in all situations, they tend to come off as pushy, disrespectful, and patronizing. And frankly, not worth the hassle.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
