Sensing danger, situational awareness - who is better at it, men or women?Men they might identify as "creeps" may not strike me as such, whereas men they think are "cool" might show predatory indications that a man might immediately recognize. I guess this is what I'm trying to say, is that different genders gave different flags. Just because you didn't think those guys were creeps, doesn't mean they weren't creeps you know? Just like they guys they didn't think we're creeps but you did. I actually had something like this happen and while it is anecdotal, I think it i… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 14/12/15 12:16 AM
Sensing danger, situational awareness - who is better at it, men or women?I feel like men and women are both able to sense threats, but different types of threats, and that that ability is developed through previous situations. Those previous experienced create little markers or red flags for you, and then in the future when you come across those markers you are more alert because of past experiences. For example, I think men are more likely to be aware of someone who is planning to start a violent fight, or mug them etc. Because those are the types of threats they ar… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 13/12/15 01:26 PM
Question for both BP and RP: What was your parent's relationship like and how did it influence you?My parents have been together for 30ish years, they married in their early 20's. My dad has a bachelors in phsyics, he was actually in his 20's when he went to college and my mum worked fulltime to support him while he studied (she doesn't have a degree). My dad has always been the primary breadwinner, when we were younger my mum was a SAHM, and then as we got older she worked part time, and now we are all at college etc she works fulltime, but makes substantially less than my dad. We grew up wi… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 11/10/15 07:41 AM
Are you an Average Joe or a Basic Linda?Well I'm a woman and I find those things interesting, so I would imagine there are probably other women that are too. I think you're operating from the assumption that my current situation is something I'm looking to change, which I am not. No offense taken Ok good, my intention wasn't to offend :) If you don't mind me asking though, why don't you want to change? Just, you said you are lonely and becoming an alcoholic :/ Sorry if I am coming off rudely, am just genuinely curious. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 10/10/15 07:41 AM
Are you an Average Joe or a Basic Linda?Maybe you could try and join some clubs related to your hobbies to meet new people? It sounds like you have quite a lot of interesting skills and knowledge that would probably be interesting to hear about. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 10/10/15 02:26 AM
A question about women and their need to be desiredYeah that's fair, I think it is hard with these questions because it realllyyyyy depends on this situation tone etc hy did he say it? Is he a socially unskilled or uncouth jerk? Did you ask and he answered? Did he say, "you're great," but you didn't believe him so you kept asking until you got the full answer? That all matters. Definitely matters. From the way OP wrote the question, I took it as he said it, unasked, as a comment on you. Not from me asking or anything but him just coming out and … | /r/PurplePillDebate | 01/10/15 10:47 PM
A question about women and their need to be desiredIf I am all those things...like around the new year when I was overweight, out of shape, and lazy...I absolutely want her to tell me. Usually those are fixable things Of course, I mean if I had suddenyl gained 50lbs then that is a different situation, like I said it isn't black and white But I am not talking about fixable things. It is hard to explain without writing out an essay :P what I mean more is, for me with a partner attraction sure it is physical, but it is also emotional. If the person… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 01/10/15 09:28 PM
A question about women and their need to be desiredAh I see. From the way I interpreted OP's question I read this as a legitimate statement from a partner, not as a joke or in a joking way. In a joking around, taking the piss kind of way? No worries. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 01/10/15 02:24 PM
A question about women and their need to be desiredIf it was worded the way it has been by OP. Look, obviously I don't mean I expect a guy to say you are literally the most beautiful woman on the planet, because that is just unrealistic and silly! But if my partner, someone I loved said to me, you are okayyy, but it would be better if you were more attractive. I mean, would you want your partner to describe their attraction to you as okay? Sexual performance as okay? To me okay is about the same as it will do. A few steps above meh. I don't know… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 01/10/15 02:12 PM
To turn a PPD question around: Women, if your fiance told you that you **cannot** have his name when you marry; how would you feel about that?I would probably be hurt tbh. I would wonder if he didn't want me to have his name because he was ashamed of me, or thought I wasn't 'worth' having his name. And if that were the case, then we obviously have some issues in our relationship that need to be talked about. Not to mention I want my kids to have the same name as me, so if we had different surnames that could cause tension over whose name the children get. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 01/10/15 10:40 AM
A question about women and their need to be desiredWould you leave a man who said that you were less than his physical ideal and that he enjoys sex with you and is OK with you but would enjoy it more if he was with a better looking better feeling woman? I would leave this guy because telling me he was 'OK' with me but would be better if I looked better would be really hurtful. If he found me beautiful, but also found other women beautiful well that is reasonable there are some incredibly beautiful women out there (and sexy men). But to say that … | /r/PurplePillDebate | 01/10/15 10:32 AM
BP Women: if you are not interested in sex when your partner tries to initiate, do you feel that you do not owe them an explanation as to why you are feeling that way?I don't think you necessarily owe and explanation, because I think to me owing implies it as a trade oe type of payment and your relationship is a partnership. But personally I would want to give an explanation. Because I feel that if I was turning down sex, there would need to be a reason, not because I feel obliged to have sex, but because I love my partner and enjoy intimacy with him. And I think just saying no is a in a way rejecting his affection, or denying him physical affection from me. … | /r/PurplePillDebate | 01/10/15 10:17 AM
