I had an ex like this- would come off as super supportive and in line with my opinions in general but any time we got into an actual conversation over certain topics (race, politics, current events) he would always play devils advocate. It was incredibly annoying but I would counter and break down his points every single time. The last time we hung out I even straight up asked him why he was always playing devils advocate and if he was disagreeing with me for the sake of it or if he didn’t respe…

The pandemic has affected single men the most- I’ve been on OLD (mostly just for practice and working on my boundaries) and it’s clear that the majority of men just don’t have the emotional tools to work through their shit. With the amount of alone time these men have gone through with the removal of external distractions or coping mechanisms there’s only a small portion of them who were able to actually reflect and improve themselves. The rest seem to be clingy, desperate for female companionsh…

This made me realize that the fights I had with my ex about being out at parties and him flipping his shit about my behaviour with MY friends was a gaslighting tactic. At the time I only chalked it up to him being socially inept and insecure in group settings but I still fought back and would dismantle every single argument he had until he didn’t have anything left to stand on. Now I truly see his actions for what they were. Also when he would agree with making plans to meet me somewhere and jus…

Families that are made up of low value people will always continue to side with their family member even if they were in the wrong. Don’t take it personally, just take it as them having little to no integrity. You also don’t know what lies he may have told them about you to justify the end of your relationship. Take the time to feel sad, but then move on. Speculating isn’t worth your time.

I never found out for sure but after reading about all of this the symptoms and signs were all there. When my LVX and I first started dating (pre FDS, sorry!) we were having sex every single time we saw each other which was almost every other day due to lockdown and COVID. I knew he was fully attracted to me and I knew that I was definitely his type. He was very verbal and would use porn speak (think things that they would say in porn), but I didn’t think much of it because it was never anything…

When my(32F) LVX(37M) blew up on me the night of our one year anniversary because I came up to him and gave him a big hug and said ‘it’s our anniversary!’ while he was surrounded and talking to 3 girls (all in their early/mid 20’s, btw) at a party. He gave me hell that night and said that I’d embarrassed him and that my behaviour was unacceptable because my actions were coming from a place of insecurity. He still added the 24 year old he was talking to on insta. Covid lockdown was deceptive- we …

It’s definitely been an eye opener for me too! I’ve been taking long walks listening to the podcast and giggling to myself on the street. Definitely a huge mood lifter post breakup and is really helping me shift perspectives in terms of all the men in my life. Game changer for sure!
