The phrase was deliberately chosen in order that it would be misconstrued.

In today's age, though, can a man just check the "woman" box and wear a dress to the interview?

It is toxic femininity.

It's like my Mom, who lives in a great safe neighborhood, but is constantly terrified that someone is going to steal packages off of her porch and monitors nextdoor for every bit of drama that just makes her feel less and less safe. The perceived danger greatly exceeds the actual danger.

maybe I'm a bit dismayed that so many people are taking the words together to mean that "masculinity is toxic" Well, you should be, that was the intention all along. If you study this stuff, you should probably care.

I understand you are trying to use certain specific, "scientific" definitions here... but the issue is not that people don't know the definition. The issue is that the term itself, with accompanying definition, was specifically designed to attack and harm men.

yep, I just retrofitted my chicken coops with AI lasers to zap any male chicken who doesn't ask "clucky cluck cluckity cluck cluck?" and then waits for the other to say "clackity clackers!" The eggs that are a product of rape are aborted at restaurants and the responsible male chickens shipped off to Costco. The other eggs are kept to birth and the other males keep getting to enjoy the harem - we are breeding out the rapists, rewarding the others, and the average egg eater should be happy to kno…

Unfortunately this is incorrect. People should not like to be controlled... BUT, the coronavirus stuff has shown me that people will prefer to be controlled if it means somebody they dislike is controlled as well. The schadenfreude of watching someone else suffer is enough motivation to give up some of their own freedom.

If you are ever looking for sexist drivel to deconstruct, start with your own comments such as these. Ask yourself a few questions to get in the right frame of mind: 1: What assumptions am I making that may be incorrect? 2: What biases and anecdotal "evidence" do I have that may be influencing my thinking? 3: Do I participate in any echo chambers that may be magnifying incorrect and toxic viewpoints? 4: Who/what am I not allowed to question? (Often times this is who is controlling you) 5: When I…

> That's why so many women advertise their new OF pages on dating apps. Then some of my friends have the audacity of telling me that most the women on Thai dating sites are only after my money. Lol - not a single one of them advertised their OF, not a single one of them ghosted me, and the quality of conversations with them (with limited English) was much better. The one I went and visited agreed to split all expenses with me for a trip (I told her I would pay for the hotels, but at the end of t…

It is because they study this stuff in school, doing stuff like this has become their life's purpose, and they measure their success in the amount of outrage/annoyance they can garner.

"A high risk factor for male suicide is a failure to achieve traditional male markers of success and meaning in life" It is not the failure of hitting arbitrary "markers and meaning" goalposts. It is societies response to said "failure"

I was worried when i started watching this that it would be chalk-full of feminist ideology. But I was very pleasantly surprised and it was one of the better shows I have seen this year.

What you are frustrated with is people weaponizing vocabulary such as "toxic masculinity" and hiding the words behind a "nice" definition. This is a close cousin of using definitions to hide yourself, as feminists do with the word "feminism". Imagine a feminist who has any of the following characteristics: (horrible personality, radical beliefs, anger, hate, resentment). There are, in my opinion, a lot of "good people" who call themselves feminist. But there are a lot of "bad people" who are all…

As a single empowered man... I don't know. I started a successful business and can do a lot of things I want whenever I want to. That includes a lot of hobbies and international travel. My acquaintances and other people who know of me write me off as broke, immature, and trying to "find myself" or whatever. The people I meet in other countries treat me rich and successful because I can travel so much and do whatever I want. Both opinions are naive and there is nothing you can say to change anyon…

Both feminism and BLM act as shields that allow bad people to do bad things and then hide behind dictionary definitions. It becomes easier for them to radicalize more people when they can hide behind this shield and eventually the dictionary definitions are nothing more than a thin veneer for actual hate. This eventually pushes the smarter people out leaving only the more radical and louder core in place, who nobody is allowed to question.

Okay - any study that puts Saudi Arabia as the country that favors women the most is doing something wrong. Whatever variables they are basing it off of were not the best variables to choose.

In one of the highest end malls in Singapore a women ran up to me and started to grind against my leg and practically begged me to have sex with her... I had to run away. 30 minutes later I see her from 50 feet away and she sees me. She immediately starts running towards me and I have to run away and leave the mall.

unfortunately the answer many come to is to avoid women. Is my aquaintence/coworker a feminist who is secretly analyzing my every move, waiting for me to make a mistake and crucify me? Did i look at her wrong, will she be offended by an innocent joke, can i hold a door open for her? don't mentor them, be 1 on 1 with them, do everything you can to protect yourself. Then when people notice men being distant, well - it's because of the patriarchy undervaluing women! Much better to just work with as …

The FDS subreddit was created as a joke, but it ended up attracting a bunch of the most toxic feminists as well who did not understand that it was a joke. They become more and more toxic the longer they participate in the subreddit. Eventually their opinions become so extreme that nobody would ever want a long term relationship with them. So it is basically a trap for the most extreme feminists. Everyone else is just having fun joking around while prodding the toxic feminists deeper into the cir…

I sort of wonder what the opposite would be. Maybe wanna-be rich men trading strategies for international dating and ignoring all the women in their own country? This would be opposite of wanna-be attractive women trading strategies for dating wealthy men and ignoring all men in their own socioeconomic level. IMO FDS was created to be a honey-pot like circle jerk to trick the more toxic feminists into joining and polarizing themselves even more to the point of being completely locked out of th…

Normally I would assume this is astroturfing - did the VSO write one of these comments or are they just random people? If these are just random people commenting I would imagine it is just astroturfing, which makes it sad that it worked so well.

I'm not really against this, but I think dating apps should have a "sex worker" tag pinned to their profile if enough people get scammed by one of them. People should be honest with each other in who they are.

I did a similar thing after realising the office life was not for me. Quit a job paying $48k and started a business that netted me $1m within a few years. But the moment I quit the first job? People's opinion of me dramatically fell and they all still wonder when I will "grow up and find a real job" or go back to school

Supposedly, based on some ancient book my grandfather owns that has a messy family tree, I can directly trace my ancestry to Lady Godiva, who did in fact gallop around on a horse - in the nude - in order to protest some tax increase 1000 years ago. So there is that.
