It's not the way it is at all. OP is in a delusional, women hating bubble. Women spend their entire lives being told they're not good enough, through the male gaze. Too tall/short, too skinny/fat, not curvy enough/too many curves, too intelligent- don't intimidate men, too strong/not feminine enough, wearing too much/not enough makeup, ... this could go on for days. Women cop it their entire lives as well. Everyone does, it's the society we live in.

I'm 40/f and have been in several long term relationships, I have always expected equal contributions with my partner. The only time I didn't was when I was with an ex who was finishing his studies, so I paid a bit extra as i was working full time and offered to do so. The girlfriends that I have discussed finances with are all the same (equal contributions), apart from the ones that have taken time off work for pregnancies and childcare.

Haha absolutely, I'm not suggesting we're all the same or that physical attraction isn't important. But as you said, those traits can help to inform what we subjectivity find attractive. And (entirely anecdotally) from the many conversations I've had with male and female friends on the topic, I get the impression that women are far more likely to be swayed by those other traits than men are.

Women still desire those things, too. But many of us will not settle for below our standards to do so. And before you make assumptions about what I mean when I say 'standards', despite what many men on here believe, looks are not particularly high on that priority list for many of us. I can speak on behalf of dozens of friends I've discussed this with, and the majority are attracted to men who are happy, have their shit together (employed, friends, hobbies, etc), and are confident. All of those …
/r/PurplePillDebate22/04/24 12:56 PM

Nope, it's not that simple at all. Lots of us have different preferences for different reasons. For example, I 100% know and own that my preferences are due to my own hang ups. I'm a very tall woman (6') and have always felt less feminine as a result of that and social norms. So being with a man who is around my height or taller makes me feel at least a bit more feminine. And it sucks because I know I'm missing out on so many great options of wonderful men out there, but I am just not attracted …

'Women will say one thing and do another' you thinking that's a gendered trait is very telling.

Not relevant to you, but absolutely relevant to a significant chunk of people. It's probably not discussed a lot by teenagers or people in their early 20s, but it becomes increasingly prioritised in late 20s and 30s.

This is usually middle class women (the majority), who are educated and working. They are aware of what they risk, what they have to lose and the lack of supports in place to counter these.

This is true, many men prefer petite ladies. As a 6ft woman, I have a similar issue to short men (admittedly not as tough as they have it).

I could be wrong, but I think you're thinking of this scenario where you approach someone with a come on, with the intention of picking them up. I think the person you're replying to is describing these situations where you mingle, get to know new people, make connections that have the potential to turn into something more. Also, it isn't uncommon to have large social circles. Lots of people have a range of social circles, especially by their 30s, when you might have had several different jobs, …

I can't believe you just engaged in a debate with good faith and multiple sources of peer reviewed evidence and they basically just said 'lol idgaf about your evidence, it's meaningless, now listen to all of my personal all anecdotes' 🤣 This sub is a toilet.

Again, that's a you thing, not an all men thing. I hope you get better.

No, we believe that is who YOU are. But you don't represent all men, and there are plenty of healthy men out there that value women in their lives for reasons other than wanting to have sex with them.

The women you choose are like this. I think that says more about your type.

Far out dude, is it that hard for you to accept that it isn't clear that your post is about relationships and that others might see it through a broader lens? You're literally arguing with 'look at other posts' at this point. What is the point of posing questions if you can't look at other perspectives?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/11/23 09:39 PM
4

No, because you also ask by what metric do men treat each other better than women. You are asking about a broad statement that is often used 'treat women like humans' and definitely isn't only used in the context of dating. So why would a person assume you only want responses in relation to dating? Furthermore, as I said, some examples you gave were about power imbalances and wealth in relation to gender. Big concepts that interrelate to your question and again, not only in relation to dating.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/11/23 09:01 PM
4

Where did you specify that in your OP? You talk about systems of intergenerational wealth and ask how that statement is true. You didn't say in relation to dating.

I think it's also about objectification.

You're so right, on every count. Stalkers 'cute' lol, delusional. On a serious note, I'd like to add, the only time I ever hear anyone trying to diminish the responsibility of female paedophiles is when MEN associate their fantasies of fucking a teacher with the vile and utterly reprehensible reality of adult women abusing children in their care. And it's absolutely sickening when people make light of those situations.

Is it that simple though? I don't want a man to provide for me, but I do want a man that can provide for himself. As a 39 year old woman, I don't want to start a relationship with a man who is not financially stable. I am stable and comfortable enough with my career, I feel like partnering with someone with less than that would set me backwards. That doesn't mean that I don't value who they are as a person any less. Personality is still what I'm going to be attracted to. But I don't think it mak…

No, and I think it's really damaging when men keep telling each other 'rules 1 & 2' on this sub. There's way more than physical appearance that makes a man attractive, even in a 'cold calling' style situation like picking up in public. Charisma can go a long way for a conventionally unattractive person.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/11/23 08:21 PM

They did, they implied it when they said that lots of women in this thread agreed with OPs assertion that they arent attracted to shy guys, ergo they all hate shy guys. That's what they claimed over a couple of messages in this thread. Anyway, I've tried to be constructive here, I'm not arguing with you. I'm out. Have a good day.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/23 07:39 PM

That's not how words work. You can't say it's accurate because of your feelings. Words have definitions and not-attracted does not equate hatred. Big 'ol full stop. If men who are shy feel awful about not being seen as attractive that's perfectly valid and it makes sense, and it's an idea on its own. I don't want to have children because of time/financial/lifestyle restrictions. That doesn't mean I hate children, I'm fact I adore kids. I'm a teacher because I prefer working with children than ad…

As an outgoing person, I can completely understand why you'd feel that way and am not the slightest bit offended! We can seem crazy to each other sometimes as well!

I haven't seen one comment from a woman on this thread agreeing with the idea that they hate shy or awkward men. Not wanting to date is not hating. The only way you could conflate the two is if you only saw the opposite gender as sex objects and not complex human beings that could fill a range of different roles in your life.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/23 01:21 PM
21

Not even remotely that. Not being sexually attracted to somebody doesn't mean you have desdain for them or want them all to fuck off and die. Well, maybe if means that to YOU, if that's the only value you see in other people, but it's not what it means for most.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/23 01:12 PM

But that's not the point. These women are expressing insecurities and body image issues that developed in that time. It doesn't matter if men their age aren't doing it any more, it's about the effect it had on how they feel about their bodies and the subsequent impact on their sex lives.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/10/23 09:30 PM

I'm so sorry you feel that way. There's plenty of guys out there that don't care about blemishes, body hair and stretch marks (btw most of us have at least 1-2 of those things). I hope you don't mind some unsolicited advice. A lot of the opinions about women that are expressed on this sub are pretty revolting and don't really reflect the kind of men I've encountered IRL. If you feel insecure about your body, I'd strongly recommend curbing your time here. It could reinforce your negative self tal…

I think this is exceptionally obvious to many women, but not at all to many of the redpill leaning men on here. I've raised similar points before, speaking as a woman, and have been told in response that I'm not showing empathy for the male experience... I was literally pointing out that sometimes women's choices have nothing at all to do with men, but willful ignorance prevailed.

Hahaha omg holy shit, it has been a good long while since I've heard a man try to belittle a women by calling her emotional. That douche is playing from a very old handbook! Lol
/r/PurplePillDebate12/10/23 12:59 PM

That's your cynical perspective, not my intention. My intention is to offer a (yes, singular) female perspective from somebody who is living these experiences, not making assumptions from the other side.

You do understand that this is a forum for people to share their experiences and it's okay that somebody has had different experiences to you, yeah? Nowhere did I say that I represent all women. Unlike many of the comments here that like to lump all people of a gender into one category, I only speak for myself. But what is the point of this discourse if we only speak in broad, unsupported generalisations? Or should I assume from your condescending tone that you're not actually interested in enga…

Why would we waste our time going on a date with somebody if we weren't interested? Dating is expensive and time consuming, I'm not meeting up with anyone unless I'm keen on them (from interactions to that point). Of course that doesn't mean that the chemistry will be there in person, but we have the same hopes going in.

Yes, women absolutely do the same. Same labour pouring through apps, mundane conversations, trying to find a connection. Planning, pre-date preparations, bringing your best self to the date, the 'performance' mentioned. It can be a chore for everyone. All of the single people I know (men and women) talk about how exhausting the OLD process is.

I've planned over half of the dates I've been on and always pay my way. I'm genuinely curious about what kind of women these bitter guys are going for.

I've read loads of comments here that aren't slinging insults at men, only offering a female perspective. But this is reddit, there are always people of all genders that are incapable of disagreeing without chucking an insult in there, But that's beside the point. We're not debating behaviours, we're debating motives. And you do not have any evidence to support your theory about WHY women might have different kinds of sexual encounters with different men. What you do have is lots of women giving…
/r/PurplePillDebate07/10/23 07:48 PM

What evidence? Because all I can see in this thread is a bunch of women disagreeing with you and saying that's not their lived experience. Of course that's anecdotal, but there was quite a bit of it when I read this thread earlier, and it was from actual women. Meanwhile I haven't seen any evidence at all that supports your conjecture about women's sexual choices, and you're not a woman. You're just another man assuming you know more about women than women do.

One woman can have different desires and needs at different times in her life that have nothing to do with the type of guy she's hooking up with. Have you considered that it could be more about the woman and what she's looking for at that particular time?

I get what you're saying and agree that there isn't a lot of talk about body shaming of short men. But I also understand the perspective of the OP of this reply thread. There are heaps of things women are still body shamed for that aren't discussed. I'm a 6' woman and I still encounter people that think it's okay to make the 'that's a huge bitch' joke. I just ignore it now. Anyway, I and many people like me would happily and loudly support short men and call out body shaming in all its forms whe…

Don't bother with them. They had no hesitation in making exactly the same unsupported claim about women (that there are less respectful and kind ones than ever before), but demanded hard evidence when a similar statement was made about men. Grade A hypocrite.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/23 08:08 AM

That 100% happens, it's happened to me too. Why do you think men are incapable of developing feelings or that women are incapable of separating lust from love?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/10/23 08:29 PM
8

Why not? It can be part of foreplay. Some of us like touching people we're going to have sex with. Many people of both genders enjoy pleasuring their partner, even in casual encounters.

Thank you! The way this person sees women and their vaginas as commodities is so disgusting. Guys like this will never acknowledge that that is a huge part of why they don't attract women.

Lol yeah, he 100% takes everything personally and also thinks he knows more about what's 'normal' for women than two women do! Good on you for trying with him, you gave it a good go!

Haha there you go again! Glad you're such an expert on women! Lol Yeah having a gf isn't the flex you think it is. There's plenty of women out there with poor taste.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/23 05:18 AM

Haha you don't know anything of the sort 'for a fact'. Heaps of women say they would choose that if sexuality was a choice. It doesn't mean that we hate men, as the person replying to you has explained. Which you might have heard if you weren't too busy ignoring her points and trying to tell her how to live her life. You're a good example of why some women wish they were gay.

I did not say that those two statistics would automatically favour women. I suggested them because along the lines of the stats being provided those two were glaring omissions. One of my parents works in health care for victims of sexual violence (not just rape) and I am quite aware of some of the grim realities -including the fact that men are much less likely to report sexual attacks! Like I said I am interested in the truth and equality. Statements like 'what women don't want to hear' just se…

Oh really? “women don't want to hear"? What a big pile of horse shit! Most women (people actually) would rather that the care of children be decided on the parents ability to provide safe, supportive and nurturing environments regardless of gender. The fact that most western governments favour the maternal side automatically is sexist and wrong - I'm a woman, I know this, and it infuriates me. Also glaringly absent from your statistics are 'victims of domestic violence', and 'victims of sexual a…
