Music/podcasts. Not to mention, they help deter randos that start talking at us.

I wouldn't, but then I wouldn't date single dads for that very reason.

Yeah, a lot of woman have learned that one. Unfortunately, I've encountered way too many men (friends and personal experience) that only show their true colors until later in the relationship by refusing to pull their weight and making their partner play 'mom' in the relationship.

That's silly since pretty much this entire sub is about men judging woman on face value and trying to get them into bed. 🤣

Haha. Of course I would have. Although, I'm more of a voucher of ones character than a match-maker. That said, the last time I saw him was several years ago and we were hanging out with some mutual friends and I got to meet his girlfriend, who is rad. :-)

I literally would tell him that he knows how I feel and I wish he would stop asking me, when we're having such a good time. It was a downer to be sure. I would take breaks from hanging out with him each time it happened but it's unfortunate that he never saw me as just as friend, too.

In general. e: To add that our friendship was strictly platonic. I made sure to never give him the impression that I was interested in taking it to another level, which is why it was unfortunate that it turned out that way.

I had a close friend that I used to hangout with regularly. We had a lot in common and we could hangout for hours talking about whatever. However, over the course of 5 years he asked me out 3 times and on the third time I had to draw the line because it was hurting us both. It was very sad to lose him, but I wasn't interested or ready for a relationship at the time. I still run into him occasionally since we have a lot of mutual friends and we get a long, so there isn't any animosity but the who…

It would probably be more productive at this in point to ask her why she brought it up, instead of Reddit. Communication is always key in any serious relationship and it is better to talk it out together. Good luck.

You're both young but her only being 21 and talking about her "casual phase" is cute, considering she's 3 years out of highschool (?). Of course, she had a casual phase; but because she left the nest relatively not too long ago, her casual phase seems like yesterday. Most young adults around that age of 18-20 don't want to be tied down and are just happy to be unsupervised, free of parents. You experienced it, you know. I'm guessing she told you her experiences because she thought you could empa…

Good job not shitting where you eat. One of my bosses couldn't keep it "tucked" and unfortunately, instead of firing him, they just made him permanently remote. More people need to separate work/play. IMO no one should get friendzoned faster than a coworker. e:sp

Right, she was depressed because HER DAD DIED. Of course her behavior would change. Don't post on Reddit about wanting to fuck your depressed ex's mom, and not expect to be judged. But hey, if you want advice, you can go post in r/AITA. I'm sure people will give you lots of advice there.

"Some bullshit with her dad dying." It seems clear that you didn't love her and just were physically attracted to her and one shouldn't marry someone on account of physical attraction. For the record, most people marry when they love each other, not just when they're intimate. Marrying someone is a commitment and also implies that you are willing to support them through tough times like, you know, her dad dying and depression. The proper response would be to get therapy. Why on earth would you w…

For sure, but I mentioned it because STIs are very easy to catch if you have unprotected sex with more than one partner, or your partner has a history of having unprotected with their partners. Honestly OP, you should both get tested. That would be the smart thing to do.

And yet, to say the truth, reason and love keep little company together nowadays.

Do you want to get chlamydia? Because this is how you get chlamydia. e: How would you handle that situation? You put a condom on your dick or stop.

I'm not judging one way or another (I do agree about opiates though), just saying that despite sounding like a kid going through puberty, OP's TED Talk seems mighty uncanny to someone tripping balls.

I also got that impression. The "bad at pool" seemed to be another excuse as well. I'm pretty sure she was just trying to find a way to call it quits, that OP misinterpreted.

This reads like a teenager going through puberty. e: A quick look at your profile has you subbed to: LSD, Benzos, Drugs, Opiates... I'm going to go out on a whim and say you're high AF.

I've been to a number of Mennonite (not conservative) weddings in the US/East Coast and even they know how to party hard and have a good time. Find a Southern Baptist and you'll probably get your virgin woman. 🤪

I don't think he was dangerous either and bear him no ill will. All I can say is that, I hope his next encounter is much smoother and he abandons the third person technique. Yikes! 🤦‍♀️ As for you, good luck to you!

This happened to me last Friday. I was at a bar with my friend and her partner and the outside is setup with picnic tables, instead of individual tables. It was packed, so my friend and I sat next to some strangers and this guy who, because of the close proximity, thought I was looking at him (I wasn't), but it turned into a mess because all night long he thought there was friction just because he happened to be in my line of sight. At one point he even followed my friend and I into the bar and …

This is great. Although my response would have been the same (I, too, like older men) haha. If I was hanging out with my girlfriends and a similar situation happened and the man in question knew when to gracefully back off, but the exchange was pleasant--I would have no problem with it. Near daily catcalling has made most woman annoyed and impatient with unwanted attention from strangers, not to mention that guy that will shout out "bitch!" after you refuse his advances. This is why a lot of wom…

As a woman, I would agree with this and stick to coffee or the park. It shows that you're not trying to rush things and are committed to your initial plans, which is important. If things go well and the conversation is good, casually suggest an early dinner (we do like dinner), but don't rush or expect anything after. Remember, you both have kids and if you're serious about this one you want to take it slow. Chances are, she's interested in you too, but it's often hard for single woman who are p…
