Nope. Even if I was in love, I couldn’t give up my financial independence.

Men who are give their dick away to any rando they meet for the sole purpose of having sex are not relationship material, they’re hookup material and should be treated as such. Women do not typically give away their bodies for the sole purpose of having sex; instead they have sex in pursuit of a relationship. That’s the difference.

The only times I’ve heard of it were in high school and on Reddit. I’m almost 40…it’s not a normal question/topic for mature adults.

But that gets boring fast. All men eventually want something more substantial.

Excessive insincere flattery is not effective in the long run. Basic effort gets basic results. If you’re trying to make a woman FEEL special—that usually requires saying things that are specific to her: “It’s so cute the way your nose wrinkles when you laugh.” “I love your confidence when you talk about X subject, it’s hot af.” “Some day you’re going to become one of those feisty old women who dgaf and curse like sailors...it’s going to be hilarious and awesome.” If you’re actually interested i…

The difference is the development of his flirting skills. The next time I see this guy (and any time thereafter), I’m definitely going to flirt with him and, if some 25 year old is around, she’s gets to observe his charm/flirtation (without being the object of it) which will make him seem desired by me and, therefore, more attractive. Charm, flirtation, a mouthpiece...it’s a practice and the more one does it, the better they will be at it.

They may not get many direct compliments but women generally know how to make men feel good through flirting (smiling/laughing, making eye contact, hair twirling, practicing open body language, etc). They also know how to become stiff, vacant, standoffish to make men feel bad. Men generally seem to have much less awareness about how to get elicit positive/negative emotional responses from women.

Lighthearted day-to-day flirting is one of the most accessible kinds of fun/interaction to engage in. I find it super adorable when a 20 year-old tries to get at me (35+). I’m probably going to say no but I’m going to flirt like hell back while I do because their interest/attention makes me feel good. It’s endearing af when a man puts forth effort and is good at being playful.

Totally agree. I think that speaks to the “assholes” line. But even if a man is a good provider, a woman will still be inclined to divorce(or be unfaithful) without said tingles. If the tingles are present, she’s much more likely to stay invested in the relationship and “work through” money issues, job instability, etc. This is especially true if she’s financially stable because tingles aren’t something she can easily find or provide for herself.

Effective flirting means making her feel good. Bad flirting makes her feel gross, so yeah that’s definitely a losing move.

But ONLY if Option 1 makes her feel good. If Option 1 makes her feel ignored, used, and optional then she’s not falling in love. Making women feel good is the crux of my argument.

This is the part you’re missing. They don’t want dudes who are nice—they want dudes who make them feel good. As the other commenter said, it’s not the assholeness that’s attractive, it’s the excitement. Meanwhile the assholeness gets old really quickly.

For like the first 5 minutes until his brains roll out of his mouth. If dude doesn’t know how to make her feel good on a continuous basis he’s just gonna be a hook up.

Option 1: Guy who looks good. Option 2: Guy who makes her feel valued, cherished, and seen. Women have sex with Option 1 but they fall in love with Option 2. No amount of subconscious processing supersedes a woman’s desire to feel loved. A six-pack will never fulfill a woman’s desire to feel like she’s “the only girl in the world”.

Well I’ve definitely met several Slayers who weren’t very attractive but had great game. Anecdotes are not data though. Why do you think women insist personality or sense of humor matter so much? Because they’d rather be with someone that makes them feel good than someone who only looks good. A lot of men are just clueless on how to evoke a woman’s emotions.

Not true at all. Women may have sex with a “cute but dumb” guy, but they get emotionally (and sexually) into men who make them feel special. Banter > Chiseled Jaw

I use the term because it’s the language used in this sub. Ultimately I don’t think the people I described in the last sentence are actually Alphas...they’re emotional manipulators.

Why is being a “strong independent woman” equated with giving men shit?

I don’t even think that a “long time” has to pass. Sometimes having sex (or trying to have sex) can quickly confirm that sexual interest is in fact a dud. Whereas avoiding sexual interest creates more it, thus undermining the platonic elements.

Sexual attraction is different from sexual curiosity though. IMO, it's sometimes easier to just get the sexual curiosity out of the way by trying it and confirming that that's not the right connection for either party. After that, being wholly platonic friends is much more realistic.

Hahaha. I like ‘em girthy. Length is less important to me. Curve/straightness can be awesome or painful, depending on direction/position. Thick fingers are a really good substitute when ED hits (not jamming them in all deep though...yuck) but I really like it when my partner feels me climaxing and I love climaxing together. Not being easily disgusted is ideal because I’m gonna shamelessly squirt/gush all over them. IMO female ejaculation is the great evolutionary equalizer between men and women.…

Lol...does it matter what my preferences are? To your question about what it would look like if men had the same level of access to sex as I do, I would say that they’d become more selective. I would also say that men and women alike prefer intimacy and familiarity because the quality of sex is higher when that’s present, so even though monogamy wouldn’t reign, I do think they would maintain consistent sexual partners. I fuck with Chads and they’re a lot hungrier for intimacy and emotional conne…

I do have a high success rate but I have dick size preferences so that filters out a lot. My partners almost always want an ongoing thing so I don’t actually have to hunt very often, but sometimes I’m just in the mood for the chase or for something new/different.

Psssh. I’m grown. The only people who count their sex partners are high school students and prudes.

Definitely agree that some women (and men) struggle with their parts not working properly. But (in my experience) when mind and body is functional and healthy, sex is way better for women. The lack of refractory period and the lack of needing an erection means we can climax much more throughout our lifetime than men. And that doesn’t even get into the different types of orgasms we can have with both clitoral and g-spot O’s being very accessible vs men having to access their g-spot through the as…

Idk...this sub talks in generalizations that rarely reflect my personal experiences. I hunt for sex the same way a man does and I get way more pleasure from it than my cis-men partners do. They often have difficulty climaxing or getting erect. They usually only climax once while I consistently have multiple orgasms. Condoms put a huge damper on their enjoyment but not mine. IMO, if a woman has access to birth control and a strong understanding of her sexuality, sex is much more satisfying for he…

That’s unequal risk, but not unequal reward, pleasure or drive.
