Not for me to say really at this point. We had three kids together and I've paid a lot, to now being less as two are on their own and well over 21. Ex wife might have abused what she did with the money, but never heard the kids say they went without

I'm also wondering if the IRS will just send the money to me rather than checking with treasury, it happened to me once before, usually it took months if I got a refund to get it while it bounced around different agencies. Feel bad for poor parents just trying to get ahead and do right by their kids.

Thanks for your kind words, I know my ex wife would tell you I'm a deadbeat, but I kept the same job I had when we first met, through to just after we divorced, so 18 years at the same job, only left to better myself and my kids financially. Sure there are dad's who don't care and don't pay, and owe thousands. My oldest daughter isn't my own biologically, but I adopted her, her own father just stopped seeing her one day. I'm behind on my child support for my one child, I paid for my other two kids up until they were 18 (all with same mother!) I fell behind due to illness, tried to get it paused but ex wife wouldn't agree so it accumulated for 2 years. I'm on disability now and paid full amount and arrears until I couldn't afford it anymore. Court agreed to lower it, but I still owe $4,000. As I'm on disability I don't mind if my stimulus check is offset to benefit my child. But those who are behind but now can't…

I'm on limited income due to disability. I have an actual physical disability but worked most my my adult life. Due to complications and other issues I had to stop working due to my health issues. At one point I owed $15,000 in child support, most of this was owed to the state. I successfully appealed the amount owed and it's dropped below $5,000. I've no problem with my money going to my ex wife for my child. My income is fixed and paid for through social security, so I'm good. However, I do th…
