Sometimes the good guys win. I just got a court ruling on my custody case... and won!!!it was clear throughout that he recognized my acknowledgement that my ex is a good mom when she's around It is disappointing that there were the psychological elements to your win, but I think that this approach is so valuable. In most cases it doesn't (and shouldn't) come down to a 'one is a crazy bitch/bastard' and I think it is really shit that most often in custody dispute a man has to PROVE that this is the case in order to get custody. Ideally, and probably mostly, there will be two good p… | /r/MensRights | 23/06/11 02:20 PM
There are those who think chivalrous mannerisms are evil. NOW feminists typically consider these actions as sexist. They consider them oppressive. Thank women's studies programs that put feminist bunk above scholarship and focus on political activism. If chivalry is dead, blame it on the feminists. That's the thing- until reading stuff like this I didn't actually think this was a problem anymore. I know a very few women who whinge about this, and they all get smacked down pretty quickly for being princesses. I find it really awkward to do the elevator dance, particularly with older men, when they are ahead of me and we would bump, so I step back so they can get in first. And then they gesture for me to go first, and I keep gesturing for them, and then we both go and the whole fucking thing… | /r/MensRights | 23/06/11 04:45 AM

Thank women's studies programs that put feminist bunk above scholarship and focus on political activism. If chivalry is dead, blame it on the feminists.'opening a door for her, rising when she gets up from the table or enters the room, pulling her chair out, carrying her bags, allowing her to go first in all instances but through a revolving door, offering her your seat if none are available' I think that if most of these things are done for the pure reason that I am a woman, then it is sexist. I don't think being a woman is a handicap, so unless I have a real encumbrance (like crutches, or being heavily pregnant) then I don't think you should … | /r/MensRights | 22/06/11 06:35 AM |
female jailed for two years for rape lie because she was "failing" schoolMorally that seems right, but that would actually harm a lot of men. If this was instituted, then women who made claims rashly and cruelly, and then want to recant later, will be deterred. False rape claims can ruin a reputation anyway. Even if found innocent, it can have ramifications and doubts cast over him. The best outcome would be if the woman did recant. And if she is facing years in jail, she won't do it. She'll put up with the trial, and ruin a man's reputation further, because she is s… | /r/MensRights | 22/06/11 05:53 AM
This'll probably be downvoted to oblivion, but...can we all agree on a few things?Have many an upvote good sir/madam. I do find a lot of people get really defensive around these issues- feeling the need to respond as if you are on an indiscriminate attack. If I'm discussing at length the cultural stereotypes demeaning women, which I feel passionate about, it doesn't mean I'm not equally aware and concerned about the susceptibility of men to fall to the same concerns. | /r/MensRights | 21/06/11 06:27 AM
Feminists claim that city building is a patriarchal conspiracy, literally the dumbitude in this article confounds me.You win sir. And I must remember to stop posting on reddit after my mentally impairing drugs set in. | /r/MensRights | 18/06/11 11:03 PM
Feminists claim that city building is a patriarchal conspiracy, literally the dumbitude in this article confounds me.Because, due to the fact everything has to be done in the stalls, the actual process of going to the toilet with all the cleanup and whatnot involved, and you can only fit in so many, it takes women longer to physically go to the bathroom as opposed to just whip it out and go for it. The fucking around part others have mentioned is why women can take longer in the bathroom, not why the queues are longer. I'm all for whacking in more stalls where you can fit them, but I think redesigning the layo… | /r/MensRights | 18/06/11 07:33 AM
Feminists claim that city building is a patriarchal conspiracy, literally the dumbitude in this article confounds me.Lighting? What the fuck. Are we all offended by unflattering flourescent lights that badly? Are roads with dangerous lack of light only frequented by women? Way to make us sound fucking incompetent. | /r/MensRights | 18/06/11 07:29 AM
If we are to defend the rights of men, we shall defend them all, not just heterosexuals. Boy wears dress to school, is suspended and denied the privilege of going to his school's dance. [xpost /r/reddit.com]There is fundamental issue with double standards in many school dress codes. However, I think you cannot understate the gendered premise behind this issue. The idea of a male dressing as a female automatically makes him a 'trouble maker,' and it is immediately assumed to be a joke. In this case it was, but in addition to simply acting as an example to the flaw in this school's dress code, it is reinforcing biases against men expressing feminine traits. While the ability for a woman to wear men's… | /r/MensRights | 18/06/11 06:48 AM
Can I be a feminist AND a masculinist at the same time?Just wanted to say that this thread is everything that makes me interested in and now passionate about the mens rights movement. I was lucky to have belonged to one of the rare and fantastic gender schools in college in which we explored the mensrights equal to the feminist concerns. However, women were certainly the majority and subscribing to r/menrights has opened my eyes to so many more issues and opinions than I had thought about, as well as demsontrating current cases and statistics. | 3 | I got this in email form forwarded to me by a single mother at work. I was pissed.Totally agree. My dad is a very typically masculine guy (not that that should matter) and he did the bulk of the chores in the house, and is THE most amazing chef I know. And he has such a way with small children- I have so many childhood memories of him taking time to play whatever we wanted with him. And he was always the best when you were sick - to this day I call him when I'm unwell for advice and dad sympathy. However, I also had an amazing mother. She was always there for us, supported us… | /r/MensRights | 07/06/11 02:48 AM
I got this in email form forwarded to me by a single mother at work. I was pissed. That is disgusting. That men are incapable and disinterested in raising their children. It also gives a picture of unrealistic expectations of women - that if you do less then all these things, if you admit defeat by sharing the load with you PARTNER, then you should be voted off 'mommy island.' This is just such an outdated picture of parenthood. | /r/MensRights | 07/06/11 02:37 AM
Why so much hate for /r/MensRights?You are correct, I believe in identifying a vocal minority of misogynists who post on /Mens Rights. My only real concern is the way in which 'feminist' is used to refer only to the extremist feminists, and the overarching abuses stemming from the results of much feminist movements. These viewpoints are wrong, and it my interest in the addressing of these issues which is why I am subscribed to /MensRights. I think there is a difficulty in the feminist movement that 'feminist' is used as a blanket… | /r/MensRights | 03/06/11 01:22 PM
