Make a move next time and see if they allow it. If they don't then they might just consider you to be "safe."

My hesitancy stems from the fact that I only picked up the shift in feelings from how she started texting. From beginning to end of the 2nd date, I was fairly certain she was having a great time with me. There was no evidence to suggest anything else. Is a shift in texting behavior really enough? Modern dating sure is fucked. I'm definitely going to reflect on whether it's worth it or not to hit her up again. I certainly have enough going for me that she may feel like she made a mistake. Plus, I…

I'm grateful for you taking the time to help me. Thanks a lot. I guess it's kinda disappointing things didn't work out. I liked her a lot and I thought we were super compatible. I know people say don't get too attached, but I think I would lose a part of who I am if I didn't. Still maybe she actually just is busy. I think I'm going to hit her up to spontaneously come get a drink with me in like 3 weeks, as someone else suggested. In the meanwhile I'll move on. Cheers!

I agree. Definitely overthinking. No, I haven't. Do you think it's effective for making me more willing to make the move? I know the girl wants to kiss, but I'm irrational. Though I suppose if I do it and she looks at my lips, too, then it might give me more courage.

I'm not allowed to admit to myself that I'm really smart? And that the process of having to live a life where so much of my positive reinforcement has come from getting an A+ in everything and nothing less doesn't destroy the ability to just go for it with women? I used to be humble about it, but I realized that it was false humility and self-repression. Plus, being a cocky works well if anything. One of my obstacles with women is being too self-aware.

I don't think I'm above it, exactly. I'm not trying to be better than other people. A large part of who I am is focused on innovating, going beyond what exists and "evolving" further. Intelligence is both my gift and curse.

Yeah, this is really the dumbest thing I do. My dark side makes me ask, "What would happen if I just didn't make a move?" But after doing that so many times, I know what happens. Stuck with a bad habit. I get so much positive feedback that girls like me. I think I'm paralyzed because I immediately have so much value that if I mess up in the process of making a move, I would lose value.

I wait so long that they think I'm not interested or are gay. I've gotten feedback on girls questioning if I'm gay because I just don't make any moves even when they're figuratively spreading their legs wide open for me.

The last one was pretty recently. I met her on Tinder and made my opening line about her profile and asked her for coffee. After she said yeah, I got her number and talked logistics. This all went pretty smoothly. Punctual replies and excited tone. The first time we got coffee and it was a nice day so we walked around randomly, exploring a part of the city that we don't necessarily walk around much. The conversation was really balanced. She would guide the conversation as much as I did. I wasn't…

Makes sense. Thanks for the advice. I think I set up this mental block that makes me think that being more assertive automatically makes me an asshole or a douche when it isn't black and white. I can be a little more of an asshole without being defined as an asshole.

Yeah, you're right. This might be too specific to just me. They're definitely attracted to me but I don't pull the trigger.

Yeah, I need to fix that shit. Part of me despises the game because it's based on such primordial behavior.

To reiterate, the only part of game I blow at is escalation. The dates go amazingly well besides that. Their interest was heavily there at some point.

Don't use online dating as a standard for who you are. Being fit, being fashionable, and having hobbies you have developed skills in can change everything. Control what you can and don't worry about what you can't. Better yet, market the imperfections your unique brand.

So you let the perceptions of others impede and suppress your own desires. I've never had a problem with this, but here are some things I would attribute to overcoming this issue: do something creative and share it with people (music, writing, art, etc.), make weird noises in public, love yourself, begin identifying yourself as being quirky (Wes Anderson-esque), start trying to have a conversation with everyone you speak about whatever is running through your mind, and watch some social experime…

But what if the knowledge that there are distinct alphas and betas actually makes it more likely to make us betas? I find it easiest to "seduce women" when I am oblivious to the fact that she's a 10 and I'm not etc. Giving into intuition and observation is more effective to me than PUA tactics.

Attitude check. How do you know it was just a boring employee. That's a person, too. Show interest in everyone around you and you won't have a problem in these situations.

Keep working on it and don't worry about it too much. Focus on hobbies you enjoy and school. Aim in life is to entertain yourself not other people (girls). People recognize value in someone who can do that.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
