Old enough to be expected to marry soon. Or at least have a long term bf by now
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/22 06:37 PM

Have any of you considered.. just staying alone forever?? I’ve had this realization a couple weeks ago that I don’t actually have to date, I don’t have to marry, start a family, buy a house whatever the fuck. Maybe this is just a phase, but right now I don’t find the thought as terrible anymore. Maybe I’ve just become more introverted due to Quarantine or sth

How do you get rid of a superiority complex. Every time I pick up a book about some niche academic topic I can’t help but feel like I’m better than most people. I know I’m not the only complex person on this earth but it’s so fun to pretend I am

Just saw the post on r/unpopularopinion about not dating people that are subscribed to an onlyfans, and noticed some comparing it to infidelity because you’re seeing the nudes of a specific person (they got tons of upvotes so I guess that was the consensus). I‘m middle eastern and almost every marriage in my family was arranged. Not always by the couples' families tho. My mom just met my dad, saw he was good with money and said "why not" (the families have to approve of the marriage first obviously). My aunt saw my uncle wearing a fashionable Jacket at a party and wanted to marry him on the spot. They often arrange it themselves, so yes, they get to choose. Have you read proverbs 31? When I read it it didn’t feel like it belonged in the Bible. It’s surprisingly supportive of women working and making a name for themselves. She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar. 15 She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family 16 She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. 24 She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes. 25 She is clothed with strength a…

I feel it's egoistic to say that the purpose of life is to strive for ones own happiness alone. You’re not here to feel good but to make this shitty existence a more pleasant experience for your fellow humans (that’s not the sole purpose ofc, but it plays the biggest role). I am basing this on the reality that pro-life is a conservative argument So what? I'm seeing this rhetoric all the time on Reddit but what are you basing these assumptions on? That pro lifers are generally against welfare programs, helping the lower classes etc? I’ve never heard anything like it. Where do people get this information from? I sure as hell have never seen a pro-lifer say anything similar to that. most romantic relationships involve selfish "love" where a person's love relates to how someone is capable of making them feel through doing things for or to themselves, and mostly because of physical attraction, rather than them doing things for or to the other person because they "love" them. People are inherently selfish so I agree. Though there is such a thing as self-sacrificing love. And those type of relationships are the ones that usually fall under the category of "ever-lasting" and "un…

stalkers Agree with this one. My friends often joke about being stalkers themselves, taking pictures of people or stalking their Instagram. I never saw it as overly weird or creepy but now that I think about it, I would’ve had a very different reaction if they were men. obsess over someone ohhh yes, especially actors and singers. The vast majority of fanpages are operated by women. I recently stumbled upon r/pedro_pascal and although I love that there’s a sub for him, people on there can be a bi…

feminist dudes feel so disingenuous to me. Obviously wanting equal rights for both sexes is the minimum but when they go over the top and start preaching about women’s rights they seem so fake. I don’t know why, maybe I’m just so baffled that a man could agree to all of this (not the equality bit but the more extreme viewpoints ya know) . I wonder how many people hold these views just cause it’s popular and expected of you at the moment

I don’t disagree, I’m just pointing out how it’s not so much the evil church preying on vulnerable people as it’s just vulnerable people attracted to that sort of environment. I also really don’t feel like comparing cults with regular churches, these people don’t rely on the usual psychological tactics to get people to join
/r/PurplePillDebate20/04/21 04:52 PM

the church relies hard on recruiting vulnerable people I know people that will pull out Bible verses the moment you tell them you’re in a bad situation, so you could count that as "recruiting" them to the church. But you can’t deny that vulnerable people are just as well attracted to the church. That whole environment is made for the vulnerable, it gives them answers, solace, tells them there’s a super mighty guy who cares about them and whatnot

Oof I wish I could study just for the sake of it. Become a scholar, study that intellectual shit like literature, history, some ancient language and whatnot. Something only reserved for people with the financial safety net to fall back on. I have to work instead

THAT is in part why women like this twilight fantasy so much. This sexy ass vampire bad boy could have anyone he wanted yet he chose the plain girl( Someone you can conveniently project yourself onto btw). Tho I don’t agree with the last bit, absolutely do not keep people on their toes, they will leave you

They all phrase their life advice the same way I’ve seen it float around the internet since 2016. "No matter what, you will be a villain in someone’s story" has been copy pasted on every social media platform there is. People just like seeing these generic phrases, they’ve become this generation's proverbs. I won’t shame them for taking a liking to them but it get's oooold dude

Sometimes I wonder if nature isn’t inherently set against women. Us being pretty physically weak compared to men, our instincts that make us kinda submissive idk

I haven’t met a single woman who hates sex workers, most just hate sex work itself. Don't know about only fans, these women are often in a good place already and just want to earn some money on the side. But regarding women that have to live off of prostitution and were forced to enter it, there sure are arguments to be made. I've followed some blogs that strongly oppose sex work/ prostitution (some of them even religious) here are some quotes from articles they reblogged which summarize the arg…

The people on that thread already gave you good answers. You don’t need to agree with anyone to treat them respectfully and kindly. You are transphobic if you purposely misgender them, call them names, treat them as less or suggest that their feelings are wrong. I think they could care less about what you believe as long as you treat them fairly (or, as is prescribed in Christianity, with love yaknow). The email you sent her was not very loving so you need to work on that.

True Feminism is about equality, people just made the mistake of focusing too much on women. You’re still stuck in 2016

I recognize that it’s very legit and don't look down on them for fighting against societal issues, I just don’t like it when they tell me I’m bad for not caring. I‘m a racial minority in my country and the child of immigrants, so not many privileges I’d say, except for the couple privileges that come with being a woman

Does anyone else feel kind of incapable of caring about some social issues, more specifically female-targeted sexism? I don’t understand the passion of all these feminists. Yes, I‘m afraid when walking in the dark, I don't like getting catcalled, men can be extremely shitty but I don’t care all that much because when thinking about it my mind constantly reverts to thinking "but what can you do lol". Maybe it’s just depression Edit: grammar babes. Sth was wrong with that one sentence

I know getting rid of an addiction is incredibly hard, if not nearly impossible without outside help. Still, if this woman knew that she was pregnant and kept taking drugs despite knowing that it would kill her baby, i find it hard to feel much empathy for her, and a part of me strongly wants her to have the legal consequences. I agree tho that incarcerating her is probably not the best choice of action, she needs serious help now and not another set of problems. This would just worsen her situa…

Well i don't feel like most people think of it as "being possessed" by someone. Most people don’t see themselves as property to be owned. Belonging to Someone means giving them your all. They expect you to stay loyal, love them unconditionally and be your priority. But maybe people just like this feeling of exclusivity when saying they belong to someone or someone belongs to them, being territorial and so on.
