I'm on your side. I don't feel bad that he hit her assuming she was being threatening to him but the dude probably straight up broke her jaw. I'm sure there were better ways to calm down the situation

If it's a minority it's not by much. Theres blatantly misogynistic comments upvoted pretty high even in this very thread

Theres a fuckton of misogyny here as well. Kinda shocking anyone hasn't picked up on that

The reason it's been pretty much ignored is because it's nothing worse than what half the male rappers have done. Obviously that doesnt excuse her actions in any way but it's pretty normal to have assaulted people/robbed people or worse in rap

That's a good point. Never really thought of it that way. Thanks

They already can have a private trial though, but its only if they think publicity would hurt his right to a fair trial. And that's pretty unrelated to this circumstance anyway. Why wouldn't you be able to just request that your name is not released though? Assuming you have the ability to contact someone I guess
/r/MensRights19/12/17 02:50 AM
1

Why? You could be right I just don't know why. I'm not saying that the press should be banned from writing about them. I just think the name shouldn't be released by law enforcement until its absolutely necessary

No he was never actually arrested. Even then I don't think it would have ruined his life But it definitely would have ruined a couple years of his life. Depending on how it went though he could have been expelled for the university just because there was an accusation against him and the school needs a lot less evidence for an accusation to be true in their eyes
/r/MensRights18/12/17 09:59 PM

Its not about holding secret trials. Its about not releasing their name until the trial which isn't unconstituational
/r/MensRights18/12/17 08:10 PM

Exactly. My roommate was falsely accused of rape (it was dropped before there was ever a trial) and his lawyer told him the police could just walk in and arrest him during classes even for a case that had absolutely no chance of being true.

While I agree that true feminists care about men's rights too, I don't think anyone here is arguing that men cannot be raped by women.
/r/MensRights01/10/17 08:13 PM
1

Right, it shouldnt ever just be one word against another. But it almost never is that way. The whole point of my initial question was that it isnt always an obvious answer to whether or not it was rape. And the reason those cases go to court in the first place is because people can sometimes incriminate themselves even if there weren't any witnesses
/r/MensRights27/09/17 12:46 AM
1

I know it happens because, again, I've witnessed it first hand. However, there are certainly times where you can prove someone is guilty solely off people's words. I get what you're saying about being drunk and your responsibility. But it's definitely not that simple. Taking advantage of an obviously drunk girl knowingly is definitely rape. You should definitely be responsible for your own decisions when you drink, but it's different when someone actually intentionally takes advantage of your ch…
/r/MensRights26/09/17 11:07 PM

I didn't say that at all.
/r/MensRights26/09/17 09:28 PM
1

That's my whole point though. Its not just black and white.
/r/MensRights26/09/17 09:28 PM
1

Okay now I actually was a witness in a false rape where a girl claimed she was drunk and was raped. Imo it's not rape if she isn't noticeably black out drunk or similar to that. But if a girl is actually raped while drunk they shouldn't be held accountable just because they were drunk, that's just insane. The rapist should still be held accountable if it can be proven that it was actually rape
/r/MensRights26/09/17 09:26 PM
0

What does being drunk have to do with it. What he's saying is if you can't prove a crime happened no one should be punished for it
/r/MensRights26/09/17 08:44 PM
1

I agree there needs to be proof for someone to be proven guilty of a crime. But just because there isn't proof doesn't mean the crime didn't happen. It can be incredibly hard to prove and its almost always based on someone's word.
/r/MensRights26/09/17 08:34 PM
2

How can she prove it? Should it just be ignored? Its just word against word in a lot of cases. It gets complicated sometimes
/r/MensRights26/09/17 08:14 PM

What about if she claims she was too drunk?

No they don't. The guy disagreeing has 50 upvotes and you have 7. There are people that agree with you. But the sub for the most part doesn't think all women are bad (or incapable of respecting weakness) or the subs point would be completely ruined.
/r/MensRights09/09/17 02:52 PM

This community doesn't believe that all women or almost all women are like that. You're looking for r/incels
/r/MensRights09/09/17 02:05 PM

Not to me. I don't need to agree with every detail of something to find truth in the main point

Yhallo is saying the victims deserve better, regardless of the perpatrator. That's the opposite of diminishing support for male victims assaulted by females

Both of us were literally saying it doesn't need to be a competition
/r/MensRights30/06/17 10:48 PM

No I don't have an issue with men's right I'm actually all for it. But I do think both men and women are treated unfairly in some way so both of them are important and it doesn't need to be a competition
/r/MensRights30/06/17 10:02 PM

Hes saying that it shouldn't be a gender war and you accuse him having a gender slant?
/r/MensRights29/06/17 10:26 PM

The quote is saying the movement is mainly focused on women. I said that is true about this sub. You just listed things that men's rights is pushing for. You are clearly just trying to start an argument out of nothing. I'm not going to argue with you about something I never said
/r/MensRights08/05/17 08:27 PM
1

I never said anything about whether or not either group is working to hurt the other. That is what your entire comment is about. My comment was about the quote
/r/MensRights08/05/17 07:14 PM
1

Yeah I agree but it wasn't relevant to my comment.
/r/MensRights08/05/17 07:05 PM

So you didnt respond with anything relevant to my comment
/r/MensRights08/05/17 06:39 PM

I said go read the parent comments. That's because you ignored the context of my comment And immediately went to saying things about how feminism is bad and mra is good.
/r/MensRights08/05/17 04:28 PM

I didn't even say that I just said that you ignored what my comment was about.
/r/MensRights08/05/17 04:15 PM

The parent is about how not all feminists are trying to hurt men. My comment was about a specific quote. You're not even responding to the comments and I've talked to you before on this sub and you did the same thing
/r/MensRights08/05/17 04:08 PM
-6

Yeah, that's not what I'm talking about. Read the parent comments.
/r/MensRights08/05/17 02:07 PM

How is that different from this sub? This sub wants equal treatment and focuses specifically on men.
/r/MensRights08/05/17 12:59 PM

There's nothing wrong with that quote though
/r/MensRights08/05/17 11:57 AM

I agree but that's not what I'm talking about
/r/MensRights04/03/17 12:40 AM

I think you're looking at the feminist label differently than you should be then
/r/MensRights03/03/17 08:44 PM

Feminism is supposed to be about Equality whether or not feminists actually treat it like that is something else entirely.
/r/MensRights03/03/17 08:43 PM
1

My point was not all feminists are bad hence my original post. Thats all there is to it. You can continue arguing with yourself if you'd like but I'm done here
/r/MensRights03/03/17 07:04 PM
1

Well, all I'm talking about is what you addressed in your first paragraph, so it seems we've come to an agreement. Not all feminists are bad and that's my only point I ever wanted to make.
/r/MensRights03/03/17 06:33 PM
1

Maybe if you wanted to be reasonable you would realize all I was saying is that women are less respected for the same work in some cases, that was very clear. If you understand that feminism is supposed to be about equality, then you should realize there is nothing wrong with feminism as a whole. Now you can dislike people who are feminists, but liking feminism as a whole makes no sense. Until you want to talk about that point then don't respond.
/r/MensRights03/03/17 06:32 PM
1

Would you mind telling me my point?
/r/MensRights03/03/17 06:30 PM
1

Yeah and I'm not going to get into this because you're just sidetracking from my point even further.
/r/MensRights03/03/17 05:26 PM
1

Okay once again I don't support special privilidges for either gender. There are still areas in the US in which women are less respected solely for being women. As someone pointed out being a PhD candidate is one of these. Feminism doesn't need to be always about achieving more rights but it can also be about not losing rights. There's nothing wrong with the idea of it it's just how far people take it. The arguments you guys are making wouldn't pass in any place other than this sub. All I wanted…
/r/MensRights03/03/17 05:24 PM

I'm trying to get you to stop being ignorant and just realize literally all I'm saying is that not every feminist is bad. Literally all I tried to say and people still somehow try to argue with that. You wont find anywhere in my posts that I'm a strong advocate for women's rights. The only reason I'm even talking about it is because for some reason a lot of people on this sub seem to think all feminism is anti-men when it's not and it's not supposed to be that. You can believe what you want but …
/r/MensRights02/03/17 06:33 PM
1

Okay now what I mean by it is I believe in equality for women. I also believe in equality for men. Thats it. I know you're a different person but you did a terrible job of keeping it concise
/r/MensRights02/03/17 01:48 PM
1

To stop you from embarassing yourself any further, let me bring you back to the main point. What do you think about feminism as a whole? What do you think the word feminism means? What do you think I meant when I said I am a feminist? If you're going to give some long answer to those simple questions don't bother. And about your little research statistics, pews isn't an estimate was a real study. The "estimate" is because they used other statistics and adjusted them. There's thousands of studies …

1.6%? Pew shows that for young women the gap is 7% in America. You can find the lowest stats you want. There are thousands that say different things. And no, you think because I said feminist that means that I'm some sort of huge advocate for it. No I'm just a regular guy that thinks women and men should be equal and it's that simple. I don't know why some of the people here have tried to turn me into the bad guy for literally ONLY saying that men and women should be equal. Stop making up fights…

Women worldwide are still paid less going into jobs with the same qualifications. Women in the middle East are still oppressed. I didn't say I couldn't name an example I asked if you guys really couldn't think of an example because of how obvious the question is. There's no argument to be made, everyone in here has brought up the same points completely ignoring what I said including you.
/r/MensRights02/03/17 12:10 PM

I think you give this sub a bad name by trying to pick fights. I like this place but if you're telling me that everything I need to say needs to be about how outraged I am about how women are ruining men then I think you're in the wrong place
/r/MensRights02/03/17 03:35 AM
1

Yeah it matters because that was my original point. Everyone just is trying to pick a fight Thats not there
/r/MensRights02/03/17 03:28 AM

I think you're just assuming that
/r/MensRights02/03/17 03:27 AM

Most feminism isn't bad
/r/MensRights02/03/17 03:22 AM
1

Why am I even arguing about this. All I wanted to say is that not all feminists are shitty
/r/MensRights02/03/17 03:20 AM
2

I think it's more about mentality than about laws. The meaning of feminism today is still pushing for equal rights for women. The feminism that this post is about is not real feminism. Most women don't think men are terrible. Whether that's what you think of when you think of the word is up to you. The point is people are trying to label the whole movement as bad when it's just the extremists in the group that make the whole femism movement look worse
/r/MensRights02/03/17 12:12 AM
1

I'm not saying legislation for anything. And yeah I just have so many people commenting say "yeah but this happens to men to" which has been very frustrating. I just think people need to continue moving towards the mentality that we're all equal. This doesn't mean we have to force equality on things. Men are generally better for jobs requiring hard physical labor, women are better multitaskers. People should be hired based off skill not gender. Laws should not apply to just one gender (that gets…
/r/MensRights02/03/17 12:03 AM

They all matter, almost everyone is a femenist by definition. Men and women need to want women to progress to be treated like equals. The same goes for men's rights.
/r/MensRights01/03/17 11:46 PM
1

No that's not how I'm reading them. I'll say it again. Both genders should be treated equally. Women should be treated equally, men should be treated equally. Everyone seems to misinterpret that as only men are mistreated
/r/MensRights01/03/17 11:40 PM

It's almost like I said they should be equal
/r/MensRights01/03/17 10:46 PM

Yup, that's what I said from the beginning.

/r/MensRights01/03/17 07:28 PM

Not much. I'm sure there's examples of both. Are you for gender equality? Then you could be considered a feminist
/r/MensRights01/03/17 07:27 PM
1

Okay well then some people aren't respectful to people only because they are women. Everyone here is just picking at my wording
/r/MensRights01/03/17 06:14 PM
0

Well there we go this is all I was trying to say from the beginning
/r/MensRights01/03/17 05:42 PM
2

If there's any time ever that either gender is being treated unequally then there is work to be done there. You can push for men's rights and women's rights at the same time
/r/MensRights01/03/17 05:36 PM

Are you saying that all over the world women are equal or treated better in every respect in all situations? Because you seem to just be a troll
/r/MensRights01/03/17 05:27 PM

You're clearly being intentionally ignorant about this so I'm not going to bother Edit: misunderstanding he wasnt being ignorant
/r/MensRights01/03/17 05:08 PM

Not being treated respectfully
/r/MensRights01/03/17 04:55 PM
3

I don't know what you're implying here
/r/MensRights01/03/17 04:36 PM
4

I've said about 100 times now I think women should be treated equally. I don't know why everyone is arguing with this statement
/r/MensRights01/03/17 04:26 PM
3

Maybe in what you hear from more vocal people who say they are feminists. But not everyone thinks they should be given special treatment
/r/MensRights01/03/17 04:22 PM
4

That's not the entire reason. You seem to be oversimplifying the situation and arguing against points im not making. I know preferential treatment exists, and I don't think it should exist solely on the basis of gender. I think diversity of ideas and people in a workplace is important but I think that it shouldn't be solely based on gender. I think that women are treated better in some situations, most of the time it doesnt bother me but ideally we would be equal as much as possible. But there a…
/r/MensRights01/03/17 04:12 PM

That's not a difference Like I said, I think women should be treated equally. Im not saying that women should be given special privileges
/r/MensRights01/03/17 04:11 PM
-2

Yup and I think men and women should be treated equally. There are people out there that still don't view women as equals and that leads to problems A women may get tech jobs more easily but rarely does a woman hired not have the skills. They are just given preference over a male with similar skills. Not saying I support it but you did seem to oversimplify it
/r/MensRights01/03/17 03:57 PM
14

I disagree. Not being treated as equals limits opportunities
/r/MensRights01/03/17 03:45 PM
10

It's not necessarily that they don't have the opportunities, but there are still people out there that don't view women as equals. And that's what needs changing still
/r/MensRights01/03/17 03:13 PM
18

I think it's a little much to speak for all of feminists as a whole since they aren't an organized group. I'm against "feminists" that are not pushing for equality. But I'd consider myself a feminist in that I think that women should be given equal opportunity as men. I'm sure she believes the same thing but anti-feminists sounds similar to saying pro-abortion/anti-life versus pro-choice. Edit: yo guys, I don't think women deserve special treatment for being women, stop arguing that Aaand people…
