Dude, if you want a relationship with a woman, go get one. You just have to take the bad with the good. There is no reason you can't have a wife who loves you and can make you happy, just realise that there's a cost to this. It could be financial or emotional. You're obviously not happy as a single GYOW man, so see if you can get happiness being in a relationship. Just be sure to keep your expectations in check, because the days of the wife being submissive to her husband, supportive of his life…

Keep working at it. The kids one day will suddenly no longer be kids, you'll be free to pursue your own activities and they will remember who brought them up and showed them what responsibility is. It's hard just now, but ultimately, You will be the Victor. The one with a good relationship with his children. The one with freedom that you can appreciate because it was hard-won, the one that can look back with no regrets and smile, contentedly. It's totally worth the fight!!

If your SO ever uses this word in relation to you, it's time for a sharp exit. How long till it's her weapon of choice? What happens when she's so annoyed, she's making an ACTUAL police complaint? This sounds like a stress that's gonna keep on coming back. If she had said no, then sure, she's right. Otherwise, looks like a setup in the making. Possibly.
