Go to therapy. Pay someone to not be on your side but let you explore. Let you family, partner, and friends cheer you on in the rest of your life but either be vulnerable or pay to be vulnerable. Just reach out.

As someone who regularly has to give presentations to internal and external clients, I am glad that I had a prof who took it seriously. It's not just about sharing and supporting a point of view. It's also tone, timing and blocking (how you stand and if you do move around the room, how you move). Your job when presenting is to get your message across in a compelling manner. I think his objection was with associating the concept with liberalism. He was pointing out that anyone can be an authoritarian on either side of the left v right spectrum.

I know what you mean. But just because they are wrong doesn't mean the right wing is right. Edit to expand now that I am back from the gym: My issue with this is that is allows someone else to define your political beliefs for you. I have no problem with someone who has carefully weighed the facts available and arrived at whatever conclusion.
