I didn't mean "hide it" so much as live it down. If we weren't just the men we are in the present moment, then sure, we'd get credit for our journeys, etc., but the flip-side is we'd have to accept being defined at least in part by our past selves.

And of course the great news here is that you can hide it. It's the self-improver's dream to be able to transform himself and to truly leave the past behind. As frustrating as it might be that women have no interest in your journey, the flip-side of that is that you don't have to go on being limited by a nerdy/weakling/beta past that you just can't seem to shake. All she'll see is the man before her, and as long as he's completely solid and the real deal, it doesn't matter at all what he used to…

"If a woman close to you were to suggest she were raped or coerced into sex, would your first response be 'Show me the proof!'?" Yes, actually. I'd ask what happened, and if her story included no evidence at all that she'd been raped or coerced, I'd tell her that she hadn't been raped or coerced. The very first thing I'd do is ask her what proof she had in order to know for sure what sort of thing we were dealing with, even if not in exactly those words.

You'd get the speech: "The gender binary is a social construct invented by the patriarchy as a systematic tool for oppression... Sex =/= Gender." Yep, and yet somehow the cure for any sort of disordered confusion re: one's gender seems inevitably to be a radical surgery to reassign the biological sex that nonetheless certainly Does Not Equal Gender.

Just picture roller derby. It'd look pretty much exactly like that.

I wasn't talking about me; I'm in an intellectual job and doing just fine. I was talking about the many people out there who, for reasons of aptitude or disposition, just aren't going to be suited to the path you describe, no matter how hard they try. I teach in a university and see this all the time. They're not all going to be intellectual workers coding and freelancing their way to riches as you describe. And as long as they're still around, they're still going to need to eat.

There are enough intellectual jobs to keep humankind busy for a long time to come. Well, maybe so, but not everyone is intellectual enough to be suited to an intellectual job. It won't be long before just about the only thing there is for grunts to do is to do intellectual jobs badly.

Sure there is. As that article makes clear, it counts in every way that, well, counts.

their motivation is purely driven by profit. If you can produce code and drive new products, they don't care who you are or how you smell. Exactly, and it's all the more maddening that this is what everyone else wants out of these same companies, too, including the SJWs. Everybody wants to keep tapping away on reliable, sexy smartphones, etc., sold to them for next to nothing by companies that are as efficient and profitable as possible, including all the crusaders who are calling out Silicon Va…

"This shade of grey is for the living-room accent wall. This shade of grey is for the hallway. This shade of grey is for the bedroom walls. This other shade of grey is..."

Men love women, women love children, children love puppies. Exactly. Though thankfully this is a loop rather than a chain. At least dogs love men.

These are the things that truly attest to the idea that AWALT. This is a world of tightly synchronized thinkalikes. Hunting for a unicorn among them is like scouring the world for the one compass that points east instead of north.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
