Most people in general do not know what to do with power. They have not spent time to understand history or think about their lives. What will matter in a million years? Having sexy partners or having kids? In a million years, the descendants will be around, the decadence will probably disappear into the wind. Women theoretically have a tremendous amount of power if they think about it. They get to choose what genes go on. Is it bad boy genes that should be selected or virtuous heroic genes?

I am a guy, so apologies for intruding. I am always curious to hear the other side, but feel that I could actually offer some interesting stuff here as a historian. I would say that women do have more power than men - but ONLY in very recent times. Historically, men had access to violence (either in public or behind closed doors). While being morally terrible, it gave men a great deal of leverage over the opposite gender. Additionally, men were the only holders of the labor market, so they had r…

Sex drive and desire for status (which provides resources, social respect, etc)

It's moments like these which make me realize everything is not my fault. I'm simply not responsible for other people's wackiness. No bitterness, only a mild enjoyment in absurdism now.

This is a excellent post. I usually lurk, but I wanted to comment. Statistics is true to a degree. This is why so many researchers use it! Just try harder is quite the toxic statement. However, statistics does break down at the individual level - most research can't even use statistics unless you have a sample of 45 + at the bare minimum. If you meet the right random person, suddenly you disregard all the statistics. Now, I agree that average guys have it bad. I would say I am average by definit…

I don't think the OP is arguing for some kind of required sex tax. It seems they are just drawing attention to the idea that capitalistic ideas do seem to influence human behavior. Fun fact - Adam Smith was actually a moral philosophy professor. He wrote a book titled The Theory of Moral Sentiments before The Wealth of Nations which argued that competition and a free market was only a good idea when you have some level of morality / social glue / reciprocity. Capitalist propaganda did good to ig…

I think you're seeing it wrong It's not that the focus is women, the focus is evolution / science / survival. If any of your ancestors did not fulfill this "main mission", then you wouldn't exist. So, it seems like a big thing in my opinion. Personally, the goal is not attracting women above all else, its about understanding my position in reality. But I could be a minority opinion on this forum

Yeah, I haven't seen that much good conversation in the manosphere. Many of the same rehashed points. I went to a really good uni and have a strong science / history / critical thinking background. Honestly, thinking about making some kind of youtube channel or something, maybe I think most people actually agree on stuff, we all just get emotional and start saying nonsense without seeing the objective picture Good line to keep one in check - from How a Man Thinketh "the oppressors and oppressed …

Totally agree there. In the name of freedom, there has been no meaningful discussion about proper genetic health. If our species was serious about health, we probably could have eliminated genes like depression, addiction, etc. There could be a whole different thread about what selection pressure exists in our society. The whole incel movement may just be the result of our species naturally correcting for the genetic mess we've created in the last hundred years - at the cost of real human emotio…

Just to make sure I'm understanding your claim, you're saying that our society's genetic stock is decreasing - even though we are allowing high quality men better access to women (compared to past times)? I'm not saying that lower-quality men should be guaranteed to reproduce. There are some legitimately low quality people out there. There should be some real basic standards every person should try to meet in terms of physical health, mental health, social behavior, etc. I'm saying allow for the…

Agreed, this effect is real. Another way of describing it is that it is a massive feedback loop. For some reason, there seems to be a winner-take-all system in our society - where we elevate those who have some wins, increasing the gap between the winners and losers. I recall reading that in some tribes pre-agriculture, there were measures against this. If someone managed to be too much of a winner, the tribe intervened and distributed resources in a more just manner. Of course, this was only so…

At a certain point, it is all subjective talk. Pagan religions valued power and dominance. It was literally moral to dominate. Recent monotheistic religions talk about humility (as they conquered). Baboons have dominance hierarchies. Bonobos have a completely different structure based on grooming and sex. Chimpanzees have a different kind of structure. Humans are too advanced of a species for there to be basic rules. Dominance or submission in itself is not bad. But yes, people should be more ho…

They are probably getting defensive, because they are not used to this cultural objectification of the male appearance. Historically, men have been "success objects", which is a big hassle in itself. But now, we are also expected to be "sex objects" given that women can choose for genes rather than resources (ex - the rise of the pretty boy on tik tok). Frankly as a man, I don't like having to spend extra time on my photos when I'm already doing all kinds of extra work. But, I'm not one of the s…

Well, I think men and women are to blame. When men are in demand, they leverage power to be hedonistic. When women are in demand, they also leverage power to be hedonistic / picky. Guess its all just sexual competition - nothing new

I don't actually remember what lecture it was, so my position may have been wrong but I did find some information: https://money.com/college-gender-ratios-dating-hook-up-culture/ From source: When men are in oversupply, the dating culture emphasizes courtship and monogamy. But when women are in oversupply—as they are today at most U.S. colleges and universities—men play the field and women are more likely to be treated as sex objects. Women at disproportionately female schools talk openly about …

Not exactly, if I'm recalling r / K is about reproduction strategies. R selection is having a lot of babies and hoping that some make it - like rabbits. K selection is about having a few babies but investing deeply in them - like elephants. https://www2.nau.edu/lrm22/lessons/r\_and\_k\_selection/r\_and\_k.html I don't think there's actually a word to describe a abundance of males or females in a space. I guess the closest thing would be economic supply / demand. If there are a few men around, me…

There is some interesting data that when there are a ton of women and only a few men like at all-female colleges, men have a much easier time. In fact, women want more long-term relationships in those situations. In contrast, when there are more reasonable ratios, men have a much harder time. This is likely because there are so many options that long-term relationships are less desirable to women. So, a "healthier" ratio would be fewer men and more women - but this would mean a lot of men need t…

In our evolutionary past, seeking approval was a good thing. You wanted approval from your small tribe. Now, there are so many people with so many different ideas. It is now evolutionarily advantageous to be ok with disapproval. Of course, being ok with disapproval is not the same as being ok with being stupid. If you do heroine cause you don't care what other people think, you could very well die from a overdose. But yes, overall, the man who is not afraid of disapproval is more free than other…
