Male here, I pity you too. This is just sad.

You are trying to generalize your specific experiences, while most of us are not relating. I met my wife 12y ago and am more attracted to her now than ever. We are in our 40s, not like we met in grade school. The situation is not as rare as you think. Re: new friends, it’s not like people stop making friends after college. You first have to find activities/hobbies and start doing them. You’ll meet people with those shared interests and potentially make new friends. Maybe those new friends have a…

My wife is one of the funniest people I know. Her looks will likely fade over time, but just like kids with cancer her dark humor will never get old.

Older people would be on Medicare though.

I concur. She’s 10 pounds away from a full-on double chin.

I get what you’re saying, but what are the specific categories you’re talking about? Like 3 would be friend and 2 would be good enough but 1 is sexually attractive?

Agree 100%. First marriage was to a friend that eventually became more. Second marriage started exactly like what you wrote. I’m much happier now compared to my first marriage.

Good luck with that. It’s simplified our lives significantly.

I have a stay-at-home wife. I’m an MD. When we first got together, she worked as well. I presented the idea of her stopping work to handle all of the kid/household stuff because it was becoming very difficult to juggle with us both working. She was reluctant at first, but our lives are much better balanced now.

I’d be more than offended, but I have a stable marriage with a wife that trusts me. The fact that she is requesting this suggests there are major issues in the relationship. EDIT: Oh, I see this is just a male version of the paternity test thread. Meh.

I knew it was going to be the metrosexual guy. Any time it’s a guy hung up on age, it seems to be him.

Where were you going that you were getting punched in the face and having drinks poured on you? This doesn’t seem like a place one would want to be at.

I’m a surgeon, so I get the desire for a career. However, I see your life goals as two diverging paths that cannot exist together. More introspection is in order. My advice would be to either go through the intense surgical training and dedicate your life to surgery, or choose a less intense residency and plan to take a hiatus/part time while also being a mom. Most physicians I know that rear kids are in primary care groups where they can do work share and things like that. I haven’t heard of a …

That's a woman? Looks like a surfer dude to me. She's straight-up handsome.

I agree with you, but it's a semantics argument and not particularly relevant to the discussion.

Why would she want to just kiss other guys? She's looking for the hot beef injection. Open relationships don't work unless you both agree to it. If you value yourself this little, it will never work. Even if you do get back with her, I foresee many nights of you masturbating with tears for lube whilst she's schtupping other dudes. EDIT to add "whilst"

Probably the doctor with throat cancer has had a significant drop in income while undergoing treatment, but his alimony was not adjusted. Notice they don't mention a figure for him, but rather a percentage. Nevertheless, it's totally fucked up. This article really speaks to me, as I'm an MD currently headed towards mediation with my wife of 9 years. Her lawyer has tried to paint her as a helpless homemaker, but she is a veterinarian and prior to a year ago was working. Really chaps my ass how th…
