Otherwise she could sign them up for expensive private sailing lessons every weekend and OP would just be on the hook for the bill. That's a hard nope. Definitely not fair at all that you have more waking hours with the kids, she makes more money, and yet you are paying that in child support. I would expect and hope that a court would see this arrangement and honor your request for 50/50 on overnights, at which point the child support calculation would actually grant you support if she makes more money. | 1 | Are "essential" (medical, dental, vision, daycare etc.) expenses typically 50/50?I was also told by my lawyer that the court typically makes these expenses split “pro rata”, i.e. proportionate to income, and I have a similar arrangement as you do. | 10 | What I'm building based on my divorce experienceI appreciate the simple clean design, and I think there is a reasonable value proposition here. I have also been storing screenshots of text messages, Google spreadsheets of expenses, notes in Notion, etc. I haven't found that process to be unmanageable, but if I knew about something like this early in the separation process (and had the foresight to know I'd need it), I could definitely see the value.
