If you're "dating" it implies you're actually going on dates where you talk about things and have things in common. That's where they get icked out. A 19-year old (man or woman) has only been on their own for about a year, and may or may not have been in college for that year. A 28 year old (woman or man) has been on their own for about 10 years, maybe six years after college. There's a vast difference in experience there.
