And also in that thread someone else posted an article from a lawyer about the legality of similar situations. This article points out that the same action (in this case, masturbating in one's own house when visible through a window) is legal in Pennsylvania but not in Georgia. I know the guy in this case was not actively masturbating, but my point stands. Laws about obscenity, lewdness, and what constitutes a private location will vary according to jurisdiction. Also, it may be that the police are required to write up and report all incidents so they didn't really have a choice of not reporting it. I guess at the end of the day I have to say this: I am a woman who follows men's rights issues with interest and (what I hope is) an open and egalitarian mind. The first report stated that the woman struggled but was unable to get free, and he only let her go when he saw someone else come along, then he ran away. I've actually experienced someone bear-hugging me and pinning my arms down. It was terrifying, it immobilized me, and I freaked the fuck out. And that was someone I knew. Without knowing what happened in that previous incident, we can't judge this one. Here's a hypothetical example: Earlier in the day, this same guy walks up to a different girl and says "Do I know you?" She says, "I'm not sure, are you in my blah blah class, blah blah..." and he mugs her and takes her wallet and laptop.
