I feel this way too! This thread and ones like it are hard for me because I legitimately don't care about nice restaurants aside from special occasions. It's less about it being a grand gesture, I'm fine with that, more about...social class? I don't know. Sure I'd be happy to go along and grateful if he took me to one, and maybe I'm looking at it in a new light now due to FDS, but I'm not a foodie at all so tasty food is tasty food regardless of the price tag, and I don't have to dress up for it…

The guy I've been seeing casually cancelled on our date short notice and I'm still upset about it. Didn't say "it's okay" or anything like that but I did agree to his suggestion to meet the following day (today), though we didn't do the original date idea due to lack of time. When that happens to me, and I dont know if this is good advice, but instead of avoiding long-term thinking I imagine how certain traits I like now could be annoying or even dysfunctional in the long term to bring me back down to earth.

Thank you for your kind words. He passes all of those thankfully. He's particular and knows what he wants, usually takes the lead with most things, but I go along because I generally like his ideas and it works for me, rather than my input being ignored.
