Me too! I clicked on the article thinking she physically burned someone with a brand as some kind of prank.

Yep I've seen both men and women set up cameras and stuff at the gym to film, but never have I seen someone bring both a camera AND a clip on microphone. She wanted something to comment on to make her stream interesting and blew this way out of proportion.

Men and women were offered the same terms by US Soccer. Men accepted. Women requested different terms that guaranteed a salary and benefits but awarded less money for winning tournaments, US Soccer agreed to the terms. Women sued after winning World Cup that they were given smaller winning bonuses, the same ones they negotiated. The women lost the court case but after a new president was appointed by US Soccer they gave the women the bonuses anyway.

I work for a smaller streaming company (not Twitch) and our top 20 performers make about half the income. The other 10,000 or so who have been active in the last 3 months make the other half.

Similar argument as to why resource-rich countries like Saudi Arabia are actually worse off today than resource-poor countries like Israel. Saudi Arabia was able to survive off its oil money and didn't invest properly into things like education and technology. Israel had no oil so only had the option of investing in education and technology if it wanted to survive.

The exception that proves the rule is that nearly all the video games with original IPs that feature female leads have been great. Horizon Zero Dawn, Tomb Raider, Hellblade, Portal 2, Ciri in the Witcher 3...while nearly all the female-led remakes of existing IPs have failed.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
