Yes but, as you stated, you have 10+ years of training to keep you in your zen so to speak. Most cops can barely afford a house. ( Depends on state) without the training you paid for yourself, you probably would have reacted in more or less the same way as the cop. Fight or flight. Its human nature.

You have the training that keeps from going "nuts" in a fight, because that was your training. Do some cops need better training, sure, but when you deal with different people on a daily basis, and they are rude to you(cop) from the start just because you are a cop. There is no calming the situation no matter what you try. Eventually, the cop is gonna rock some one. Also how would you react if you got surprised kicked while dealing with something else?
