Good points. There is a lot of improvement I need to make and continuing to read those books will probably help me to change my worldview about communication in marriage/LTRs. My initial purpose of personal therapy was to get advice about divorcing my spouse which my therapist did support me doing but since then my therapist has been helping me to understand my wife's behaviors and how to respond appropriately. If I was further along the road of self-improvement then therapy wouldn't be as relev…

I'm new to red pill so the way I'm handling things is a mix between red pill and what I'm learning in therapy. To me, STFU means I'm not going to make a bunch of promises and apologies to make her feel better like I used to do, instead I just take care of that stuff if I have time for it. But from what I've learned in therapy I think women need validation and that can be communicated to them without losing my frame of happiness and by steering the conversation clear from deep emotional/depressin…

I'm currently owning communicating better with my wife. I don't take arguments personally anymore and I'm blaming my wife less when she brings up problems she's unhappy about. I'm also owning exercising 3x per week and eating healthier at home. I need to take the lead on making sure housework gets done every day. My wife cleaned 1 room about 2 weeks ago and I clean 3-4 rooms of the house every weekend. I need to realize that it's unacceptable to not have a clean house every day rather than waiti…

I'm new to red pill so this advice might not be red pill, but it seems to be working for me lately and my wife has similar behaviors. It was just last week that she was messaging me articles about chronic fatigue syndrome or something. I didn't respond so later she asked me about what I thought about it in person and I validated her and just told her "yeah you should get that looked at" and then changed the subject. She does the same thing your wife does where she'll hear about a medical conditi…

[stoicism] is a contradiction to pursuing personal growth. I think picking a life philosophy and sticking to it like its the one true path to happiness is the problem; I've had this problem as well. I'm no expert but stoicism seems to be about thinking logically about things and not just doing what some generalized advice is telling you to. "Accepting your fate" should only apply to certain situations that are completely out of your control. There should be a middle-ground somewhere between bein…

His "Big Ole Butt" song is a classic. Don't ask me how I'm livin', 'cause, yo, I'm living swell. But then again I'm livin' kind of foul 'Cause my girl don't know that I'm out on the prowl" ... later breaks up w/ his girl with style: TINA got a big ole butt, I know I told you I'd be true, But TINA got a big ole butt, So I'm leavin' you

This sounds like a non-problem. The problem used to be that she was not getting enough but that was already solved when her attractiveness improved. So what is she complaining for? Women are crazy

The last two weeks I've worked hard at securing myself financially and that's been pissing off my wife too. I got into my career position last year and she started working for the first time a few months ago so we make more than ever before but we're still living paycheck to paycheck and missing bill payments. I've installed the Mint app and I've tracked everything and stopped all the bullshit expenses. We're adults, why does she insist on acting like a child? I'm getting sick of it. I need to w…

Thanks I'll add that one to my reading list; I'm currently reading No More Mr. Nice Guy. It's going to be quite process to change from me meeting her crazy demands to doing what I want to do

Thanks this is solid advice and the responses you give work at stopping the drama. And geez you're right my responses are too emotional, yuck. I started reading No More Mr Nice Guy right now and I'm liking what I'm reading so far.

Thanks for your brutal honesty. I decided to not respond to her. It's going to be a shitstorm when I get home so I'll probably walk away if she tries to bring it up since it'll be impossible for me to talk through her problems w/out giving her the beta shit she wants to hear.

Probably true. In the past I'd fall for the whole "you are going to blame me aren't you". I think I improved on my normal "no of course not" response to just saying yes it actually was. That's what really triggered my wife and got me wondering if I needed to tone it down a bit

quit buying that shit (Burger King) for the household, it is trash and should not be eaten by anyone Yeah I'd really like to be the one to lead the family in eating healthier. I've started working out and I'm the only one that is eating healthy at the moment. I want better for my kids but they only want to eat garbage junk food now too

she tries to use your children for manipulation I never recognized it as this before. When I almost divorced her she surprised me by saying that she was going to be the one to leave the kids and the house to live at a homeless shelter and never come back to ever see the kids. I thought she was just being crazy but she was probably using it as manipulation to stay in the relationship. Edit: Also now that I pushed her into getting a paying job, the whole I can't make it on my own shit isn't going …

I was also involved in a car accident that was completely the fault of a high school girl not yielding when turning left at a stoplight. I was shocked when I looked at the police report how she lied about everything. Luckily a cop saw the accident and gave her the ticket.
