I really appreciate you opening up about all of those challenges. I understand needing my STBXW to lose her cool to justify stuff. I know I wont get that and I have to simply go off of my need to have an emotionally communicative relationship, which I’ll never have with her. I guess being alone doesn’t mean I will be lonely.

Thank you for sharing and showing strength throughout that process. It gives me hope. I’m finding a similar, and interesting, change with our communication. Before it was non-existent. Now it’s healthier because there is no real consequence. What’s the worst that can happen to her? Divorce! You’re right for me not give in to the fear. I’ll head that.

I’m sorry brother. That’s tough. It’s rough when you still care and worry about someone. The line between wanting to help resulting in dependency and letting an adult face the rewards/consequences is challenging. Why did we never get the manual on how to navigate this? 😂

Best of luck to you too. I’m lucky in that she is receiving a huge amount in her trust and she would actually have more income, thus pay me alimony. The child support to her and the alimony to me cancel out, so it’s a zero sum game on that front.

Thanks so much. I need the encouragement to not react in fear and keep communicating and work through this.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
