If you're faculty, then it becomes complex to start hooking up with the students...conflict of interest/liability type stuff. 2	SJW protest at Cornell University Oh yeah, Cornell is a great place for anything agricultural related, and if you're from NY state, you get instate tuition for that part of Cornell. I think you'll probably be ok. You do have extremes, like I've said, but most of the staff are reasonable people. In my opinion and experience, it's certainly possible to create a healthy balance. 4	SJW protest at Cornell University I agree. I believe either extreme has its flaws, groupthink, and disconnect from reality. On one hand, I want to say it's a person's responsibility to reflect on their thoughts and to stay on top of what they're thinking/doing to avoid those traps. On the other hand in practice, avoiding herd mentality, group condoned rationalizing, and the need to fit in is something that a lot of people have trouble with, if they're college age. 12	SJW protest at Cornell University I actually did my undergrad at Cornell, and there's a huge liberal culture there. I'd actually say the surrounding city of has a lot to do with it...essentially, Cornell is out in the middle of nowhere on the Eastern outskirts of the city of Ithaca, NY, which is probably one of the top five most liberal, hippie cities in the USA. If you're any type of non mainstream gender, sexual orientation, or whatever spiritual thing, it's a very accepting city.
