browsing this sub two years ago was what got me into old-school shaving, and i specifically avoided anything produced by P&G. paid $45 for a good German razor, $30 for 300 double-edged blades (russian), $20 for a decent brush (italian) and $30 for three different shaving soaps (also italian). two years later, i've used MAYBE 30 of the blades, the brush is still fully intact and i have about 80% of the soap left. a minimal "investment" up front changed my entire perspective on shaving products.

what's the timeline though? as written, it almost seems like you got the apartment and then immediately got the job. i got my "dream job" at age 26 with $9k of credit card debt., i (sadly) was living with my dad at the time and as bad as i wanted to move out, i desired to be debt-free even more. so i sent in $800 / mo for 10 months to my CC company and then finally moved out once it was gone. 15 years later, i have never owed more than $2,000 on any type of credit.
