47	Female rapist granted refugee status in Canada What she did wasn't a crime in Canada. This probably was a big part of why Canada refused to extradite her, and I wholly agree with this decision (provided what I read, that the boy consented to the sex, was true). Canada's age of consent is 16, unless the older person is in a position of responsibility over the younger one (in which case it's 18).
