He wasted her 20s but at least she’s relatively young if he does leave her. This is why you don’t play build-a-man. They eventually resent you and leave you. She should have looked for a guy more on her level and hopefully she can find that now. She built this scrub up and now it thinks he’s better lol.

In my less enlightened years, I did ask guys for choking. When I asked for that they looked at me like I had three heads and said no. That’s when I realized I was brainwashed to think wanting that kind of aggression was normal. That type of sexual activity is based in degradation and the kind of way you’d treat someone you hate. There’s a reason why people pay to treat others like sex dolls. I hope that poster leaves. Her husband already seemed disgusting but mentioning bodily fluids makes my sk…

That’s what I thought. Makes sense to me. I’ll take that title. I was in college during the time sites like Tumblr had stuff that glorified being a sugar baby. Seems like shit is the same as it was 10 years ago.

Cat calling is improper by my black ass standards so idk what she thought she was doing with this. I’ve been approached as a teen with a Disney channel backpack, when I was wearing a uniform clearly only students wore and even as an adult at the bar even clearly saying I’m married and my husband is the room. Cat calling is violent and makes women think they have to shrink down instead of call this behavior out. This is why for years I’d wear headphones with nothing playing to avoid this. I’d say…

You are right on about using the haircut as a signifier of femininity. When I wore long wigs and extensions, I attracted a different type of man than wearing my hair natural or close cropped. Any man that acted like I was totally unattractive for having less hair clearly had issues.

I either do order pickup or give a list. If he can’t find exactly what I asked for, he won’t get it. What the hell do you need to call for? If you live in the same house and always eat the same foods, you should know what you’re looking for. Useless, clueless and trifling.

Wow I didn’t know that. When I was on OLD people acted like liking the office or how I met your mother meant you had a personality. It was just so lazy lol.

I’m sorry to the people this may offend but I cannot stand people using the office as the barometer for humor. If OLD existed like this in the 90s I wonder if it would be a show like Seinfeld or something lol.

I see this trend continuing. What annoys me about it is that people act like you can only be high or low maintenance. It ignores the nuances of how a human being truly is. If you’re ok with McDonald’s dates and no flowers, good for you. I like McDonald’s and I like gifts to wtf. I’d wish I could say these are younger people only saying this but there’s plenty women who are older that do as well. I thought we left the Not Like Other Girls shit like 10 years ago but I guess not. People thinking it…

I wish this sub existed back when I was doing this. I dated and wasted so much time on losers. On men who were smart, but lazy and not willing to hustle like me. Don’t date in income level, intelligence level, any level.

I’ve dealt with losers and screwed plenty but ain’t never had a man living with me. I’ve been a fool but I’ve only ever lived with one man and I’m keeping it that way.

I mean we all want sex, right? Well not everyone lol but I think some of these men parlay the sex into living with you, the women who has it together. They want to live rent free, eat your food and use your shit while you get nothing other than subpar dick in return. Sounds like a good scam for the unemployed man lol.

Hobosexuals and other related dusties like this are dangerous. They are so jealous of women who have it together that they want to break you. That’s by lowering your standards, knocking you up, etc. Please avoid men without jobs. I know times are hard these days but employment should be more important than getting a woman.

You should have seen Twitter about 10 years ago. The way there was so many jokes comparing black women especially darker ones to gorillas and other shit was disgusting. I was a teenager and glad I never internalized that bullshit. These guys who seem to always care what black women are doing while hating them are sick in the head.

When I was single, I had a routine. I would have my dinner and chill and by 7 I’d shower and go to bed (not sleep). I wasn’t lonely but I worked hard and liked relaxing. For many, the bedroom is the most relaxing place in your home. Besides I can’t stand these guys like Derrick Jaxn or Kevin Samuels who stay dragging (black) women for no reason.

I’m glad the sub is back. I enjoy this place as a place for women to know their worth. I’m still working on that, especially outside of dating and just in general. Really grateful for this sub. And love the u/ OP!!

They haven’t seen a handsome black man before. What we consider average, other groups of people don’t. For example, all the thirst over Michael B Jordan or Winston Duke during Black Panther. The real hottie was the director.

He withheld things about his sexuality. He admitted to occasional cocaine use (a hard stop for me is drugs). He got fired from a job for overreacting to a situation. He showed himself to be duplicitous and untrustworthy. But you couldn’t tell me we weren’t going to have our happy ending lmao. The one before that was a high school boyfriend. Serial cheater who I wasn’t even his type honestly. He married the last girl he cheated on me with, cheated while he was married, tried to screw my friend an…

I used to think an ex was the one that got away when we broke up. But he withheld things about himself from me because he didn’t want to be judged instead of being honest. We were great friends, should have never been together. And of course after he broke up with me, months later he came back. Men really don’t leave because in addition to him, had another ex of mine who for years would turn back up even when married with a child and after his divorce. The only regrets I’ve had with men is wishi…

Same. I will admit I used to be the simpleton who would ask for advice when I knew what to do. But I learned my lesson big time. This was before FDS when I used to visit BWE (black women’s empowerment) sites back around the earlier 2010s.

I got into true crime heavily as a teenager. Used to watch shows on Investigation Discovery, A&E and the like. I knew even back then to not have a pattern. I rode the city bus and I would switch up which bus stop I got off and which way I walked home. I feel much safer in the area I live in as an adult but I still watch my back. Even at the parking lot in target, I still lock my doors once I’m seated in the car. True crime has shown me that by virtue of being female I’m at risk. I especially hat…

Until this woman gets something of value stolen or physically hurt, she’s going to stay. She wanted you coworkers to validate her staying. She made a boundary and the boundary was crossed. I know it’s a bit binary thinking but when a man’s behavior is at the extreme and pushed past what you are comfortable with, he needs to shape up or gtfo. You did the right thing. You took emotions out and were logical. This is why I stopped offering advice even when asked. Don’t come to me asking me dumb shit…

It’s only black men that have said bad things about my hair or change how they treat me based on hair. A friend of a former boyfriend made jokes when I shaved my head. Implied I was unattractive. Same friend made fun when I wore a wig once for fun. These [redacted] are very weird to me. Guys I’ve dated haven’t said anything about my hair badly but other random men have. They hate to see their (for lack of a better term) nappy hair reflected back at them! Just cuz y’all hate to be black doesn’t m…

I think dating with it your own culture or race helps but men will always find a way to other us. Men of my race that I’ve encountered always would ask when I would cook for them or make it known how they typically “pull” women lighter than myself. Seems that it’s hard to win either way. I won’t even go into the “standards” black men have for black women. I’d be here all day.

I’m out of the game these days but maybe what I say could help someone else out. Most of this pertains to white men but can apply to other men as well. Anyone calling me chocolate seriously or any other food term is a no go. I’m a person, not a piece of food. Anyone assuming that because I’m black, I’m wild in bed or quick to fuck. There’s women of many backgrounds like that. Being surprised that I don’t fit a stereotype that is associated with black people (like education or whatever). All peop…

A guy I dated years ago was definitely like this. He had other red flags but the way he was with other men was the worst. Instead of wanting to spend free time with me, he’d want to spend it with the boys. All his close friends lived within walking distance but I lived a bit further. It was so odd to me. I get needing time with your friends but men who rather spend bulk of their time with other men don’t want girlfriends, they just want fuck buddies clearly and reserve affection/adoration for ot…

I remember this post and thought it was stupid as hell. She mentioned her bf’s ex jumped ship and he’s the primary parent. She is clearly being funneled into being New Mom and was too blind to see it. I hope she realizes to say away from these single dads. They rarely seem worth the trouble.

I’m 29, no close friends other than maybe 2 at this point. I’ve used Bumble to make friends online and I understand what you mean. I was supposed to go to breakfast with a girl, day of I reach out to make sure we’re still on. She unmatched me! She’s the one who suggested meeting in the first place. Some of these women are socially maladjusted and don’t understand how to communicate. If I tell you I’ll be there at 8:00, you better be there and not flake or be super late. I’ve almost given up on t…

You were young and I can understand why you turned to Reddit for help. There’s some sickos on this site that don’t care about women at all. And it is possible to find a man who’s not obsessed or watches pornography. This society makes it seem like the norm these days when I’ve dated plenty men (some assholes, some not) who didn’t watch it at all. Being on FDS now, you know you deserve more and your feelings are valid. Don’t settle for less than you deserve ❤️

This is very important especially financially. I’m not rich but I have some good financial sense about me. I’m not going to be with someone who’s not going to be mindful of their money or not willing to learn how to.

It was always weird to me how Anastasia is said to have never had her own laptop before Christian bought it. Those books are about 10 years old, right? I was in college 10 years ago and we all had laptops.

I read these books when I was about 16. I’d had boyfriends but nothing to serious. I remember thinking the books were hella wordy and hella white which I guess was fine but whatever. Watching the movies showed how flimsy the premise truly was. Especially since there was never a chance she was choosing Jacob. Never. That’s why the whole love triangle fell flat to me then. I would have much rather learned more about other characters then watch Jacob brooding about dumb ass Bella.

A male gold digger wants to marry you, take half and have you pay child support and look like the fool. These men dislike women but want to be in a woman’s place being a kept man. Make it make sense.

Back when Teen Vogue was transitioning to being just a website and no magazine, they wrote about teaching you how to feel pleasure from anal sex about two years ago. Just search and you’ll see what I mean. I used to love reading Teen Vogue when I was an actual teen and as I got older. Color me surprised when they are suggesting a very hardcore physical act to presumably inexperienced young women. Fucking disgusting.

This is very interesting. I briefly entertained an age gap relationship with a man who was almost 20 years older because why not? It was a weird situation when I talked about a favorite show of mine as a child and the show came out when he was in college. This man clearly had issues because he worked at a college and I have a sneaking suspicion he tried to get with young women there. There’s something wrong with people who consistently seek out younger partners.

Ok so he’s weird probably has other issues as well. But not even washing the clothes he sleeps on? That’s what’s more troubling to me. After years of dating if she’s never been to his home/room, she’s already played herself.

I remember when Tik Tok was previously Musicaly and they came under fire for underage girls being groomed on there. They changed the name and focus of the app to what it is now. I’ve never downloaded that onto my phone and never will. Some of those “challenges” are so insidious and too sexual for a public platform with millions of views.

When I turned 18 years old, some random man who was 50 hit me up trying to talk to me on MySpace. I was immediately disgusted. I turned 18 when I was still in high school and was appalled someone would try to get with a teenager. Sick. I was 22 briefly seeing an older guy. I thought it would be fun. But we had nothing much to talk about. Same with the older guy I saw the next year. It was gross with the 2nd guy because I believe he worked in higher education. Both were white. I swear I think the…

I swear that every time I entered into a new relationship, a guy from the past would come out of nowhere with the temp reading. I learned to just block and not respond. I think it’s pathetic. I haven’t always made the best dating decisions but I used to give a guy a week. If he wouldn’t respond to me within a week, I was done ✌🏽 .I think even a week was too generous.

This was a few years ago but Teen Vogue had articles teaching girls how to have anal sex. I think that if you want to make content like that, it should be for an adult audience only. I can’t say much sickens me but that really took the cake. They barely were called out for it too! I’m almost 30 so I’ve watched pornography go from anal being the taboo sex act to all this stepsister, spitting on and whipping people bullshit. I wasn’t impressionable watching that stuff but it’s gotta be hard for a …
