Your point stands, but also women invest more into their appearance overall, even when they're older.

While I do agree with this, women also get shamed for wearing makeup. I don't think it's the makeup, it's more that men will criticize women for pretty much anything. So, like, do whatever you like with you face, as long as you're doing it for you. For me, personally, not wearing makeup was a "not like the other girls" thing. I have since embraced makeup, and while I still only wear it for special events, I am happy that I have gotten better at it and I really enjoy the self expression and feeli…

Why Does He Do That talks about this in detail. For abusers especially, therapy just ends up giving them even more tools to abuse and gaslight his victim and to make others feel sorry for him. While I'm a huge supporter of therapy, yes, it's not a magic fix-it-all tool.

I really really recommend therapy. It gets better ❤️

Thank you for your detailed answer! I am dating a pro gamer currently, but he also has a college degree in programming, and that is his long term career plan. I am still vetting, but it seems promising!

In your opinion, does this include professional gamers? People who are so good in a game that they made it their career? They make a lot of money, and their coaches require them to go to the gym and have a balanced meal. They even have psychologists available to make sure gaming doesn't turn into their whole life (and generally to talk with about whatever problems they might have). They are basically like pro athletes. Can these men be HVM?

Yep, my ex would complain that he doesn't like therapists because "they don't actually care about his feelings the way a close person does". Now I can finally see the FDS translation: "I want to use my loved ones for free emotional labor".

My ex actually went to a therapist when he was a teen (his parents made him go). He would always brag how he told the therapist straight lies and how the therapist couldn't "reach him". Like??? That's your own fault, imagine sabotaging a person trying to help you.

Middlemarch is definitely FDS, I learned it in college Eng Lit. The only happy woman in the book is the woman who didn't want to marry a guy until he proved to her he was responsible, dedicated etc.

Definitely an orange flag. Even if there's genuine reason for him not speaking to her, he could be emotionally damaged. Make sure he isn't looking for a mother figure or for a free therapist.

As someone who was cheated on with 'the One', this makes me sick. But yes, at least FDS is teaching me to not get into a relationship with men who don't value me. I hope all women take his advice and never get with him because he obviously doesn't value any woman.

It's not just during the war either. My grandmother has been a widow since she was young. She gets up, does farm work, fixes around the house, cooks, lifts heavy stuff etc. And she doesn't even act like it's anything special. And she's 80! So, congratulations I guess, a man can do as much as my sweet old grandma.

In nature, male members of a species are the ones fighting (sometimes even to the death) for females. Male peacocks have colorful feathers to impress the plain looking females. Yes somehow the human species managed to get this completely wrong. Doesn't make any sense.

The Take is an awesome channel, especially their videos on female tropes. The summary : each one of them serves to satisfy men in some way.

My LVM ex left me because he wanted to party and "live his life". Well, I sure hope he had a great time during the lockdown lol.

I absolutely agree with you, I'm actually okay with a discreet toot here and there. But if one partner sets up some boundaries, you'd better respect them. And stomach cramps may be real, but I bet you don't fart in public transport. That's the difference I'm talking about.

Exactly, either go to the doctor's or hold it in like a big boy!

So the replies are split between "you look better with makeup" and "you look better without makeup". Those same men: "damn women are so complicated."

Yep, she said "they're not a stuck up family", lol. Thankfully, that's all in my pickmeisha past.

I noticed him getting distant and I asked, in all my pickme glory:"Don't you find me attractive?" He replied: "Well, y'know. When you get dressed up." I am a conventionally very attractive woman, and I took pride in not letting myself go in a long term relationship. He, on the other hand, lost 10 kg of pure muscle in our relationship, and ended up looking as a skeleton. This took such a hit on my ego, until I found this subreddit! You saved me ❤️ Never again! Another example: his idea of spendin…
