Te explanation in the comment you are replying to says nothing about rationality. It describes that nearly everything we do is because it makes us feel better. That is an entirely emotional emotional explanation of human behaviour.

The same reason a lot of construction workers, cleaning ladies and other similar workers in western Europe are polish. Because it pays a lot better than similar jobs they could get in their home country

They didn't always. For centuries being as pale as possible was consodered attractive, because it meant that you didn't have to do manual labour outside and were probably wealthy. Now that the vast majority of people work inside, it is more attractive to appear like you have time to spend on recreational activities outside and don't work from sunrise to sunset.

For periods of human history being realtively fat was seen as attractive, because it showed that the person was wealthy. That changed in part because (at least in western countries) the availability of calories became so high that nearly everyone could become fat. Now being able to be skinny/fit is seen as an ability to be focused/ambitious/driven (all qualities many would seek in a potential partner).

Why is it so disgusting to you that a consenting adult offers a service to another consenting adult in exchange for money?

There are a lot of people from eastern europe that come to countries like Germany to search for a job. There are a lot of men in jobs like construction and a lot of women in jobs like cleaning. Jobs that require very little formal education. Because the pay for these jobs in western countries is higher than most jobs they could find in their own countries due to overall higher minimum wage and cost of living and because EU citizens can legally work anywhere in the EU, it isn't uncommon to see th…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
