My only thought was that it doesn't sound all that confident to me. Though, I AM still quite new to the scene, so I'm most likely wrong.

Heheh, that makes more sense :P I assumed it was a term for a newbie or something. I certainly plan on posting an update. Also, I'm going to look around but can you recommend any posts for what to do once I'm on the date? I've read everything in the sidebar, and I'm going to do so again before the date, but I really have no experience on what to do.

What you meant by "Good luck on your date, Fluffy". Specifically the calling me fluffy. I don't know the lingo that well yet.

Heheh, thanks. I can honestly say it's all because of this subreddit. Up until about 2 months ago when I started reading the posts here, I had a hard time talking to my good friends, much less people I didn't know. Yeah, here's hoping it goes good. Though I have to ask, Fluffy?

Okay, that's what I thought. I just wanted to make sure.

Sweet. I just got back from there, but there was a distinct lack of people there. However, I'm going to keep trying. Also, slightly related question, if there's no HBs there at first, how long is it generally worth waiting to see if any show up?

Huh. Would a Barnes and Noble's work too? I don't really have any big libraries near me.

Really? If I were reading at the library, I'd be pretty pissed if someone interrupted me, but maybe that's just me.

The problem is, none of my friends are all that good with girls. I hang out with theatre people (and by hang out with, I mean I am one) and we're all either gay or spectacularly bad at women, and that statement is not nearly as hyperbolic as I wish it was.

I plan on trying the whole class thing next semester, my only problem has always been the whole being 17 thing. I'm always worried that when the HB finds out about that, it'll shoot me in the foot.

Well yes, that is the goal, but my thought was to get good at small talk first and then work my way up to that. However, even if that logic is wrong, and I wouldn't be too surprised to find out it is, my question still stands of where to find some good (free) reading material on it. Again, sorry if I'm missing something painfully obvious, and again, wouldn't be too surprised to find out I was, just let me know :P

Oh it's entirely an inner game problem. I'm not great at transitioning from an opener (the occasional time I can get over my AA) to small talk. Again, I'm sorry if if this is obvious and I just missed it, but is there anything in the sidebar/faq/somewhere else that I could read to help me with that transition.

Can you elaborate? While the HB is shopping or what? Sorry what must be a fairly newby question, I'm just done with not being good with women.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
