its purpose is to damage the organ. it removes a piece that was there before. the part of the organ does have a purpose. a sexual one and a health related one: it covers the head of the penis, keeps it moist, and protects it from over-sensation / desensitization. since it doesn't mutilate or fundamentally alter the function of the body part, this premise is false. it removes a large portion of the organ, with many nerve endings.

many do, but N-9 isn't all that dependable. Spercimide (nonoxynol-9 is the variety most commonly available in the U.S.) has been available for many years.
