I had stop visiting /r/mensrights a while ago because of comments like this. I'm giving it another shot. Maybe you want to consider what this sort of thing looks like to people who might criticize the movement, because as a partial outsider, I can tell you, these words help paint /r/mensrights as lunatics particularly since it has been upvoted.

Maybe you want to fill in that elipsis? He never said that rape is okay, he said the game of saying no when one means yes is okay, and exciting. This of course is assuming that this is what is really going on, that the one party is legitimately saying no when they mean yes. You're quote mining.

Logged back in specifically to say thank you for this post. It's definitely in the realm of what I was looking for but has unfortunately confirmed what I was seeing a while back, and what I see while looking around now. I will be certainly be taking you up on your second course of action (as I have been doing all along), addressing issues outside of the MRM. But maybe I'll keep an eye on /r/mensrights a bit more so that I can downvote the rude and up vote the cordial. heh Again, it's appreciated…

But what this does is shift responsibility from the rapist to the victim. no, if the rapist can't pick up on the fact that when the victim is trying to leave then obviously the rapist is at fault.

You're accusing me of being closed minded or assuming that one person represents a movement when I wrote the following: Did I mistakenly stop reading about men's rights because of an extremist who doesn't represent the movement at all? I wrote that specifically so that I wouldn't be attacked in this way. And no, I am not trolling. I am specifically here hoping that he doesn't have community support and hoping that he doesn't represent MRAs.

Okay, now imagine you're in a situation where you're with a girl, and she does say no, but you think that her body language or whatever says yes, and you keep pushing because she actually means yes and did want it. Well done, you just participated in the exciting realities of sexual interaction. Of course this creates a confusing grey area, but it is reality and tone and physical response should be enough to discern the difference.
