You can still stop the cycle of bad parenting regardless of gender! Hope your family are doing well!

This is a sad culture that’s been around for years, I’ve seen it on Reddit as well as people around me. The mindset must form from a massive lack of love and respect from an early age.

These signs never bothered me, if I needed to change my son I really couldn't of cared less which changing room it was, as long as it had a baby holder.

Michael Moore respect level went from fuck all to absolutely diddly squat.

I've been thinking of setting up a mens group in my town for some time now, i'm from the UK and wondered if I could get any advice on various things, like what to do in this hour, what levels of support would I be looking at and other general info.

Also being in the UK she'll get out after half the sentence and spend the rest on conditional bail. So 16 months for her. Plus possible good behavior may knock some more off.

About downvotes: In order to protect minority opinions, comment downvotes have been disabled via CSS. Without accountability, redditquette guidelines mean nothing and will only result in a combination of unconscious groupthink (the human mind naturally will try to agree with the majority opinion of the social group he identifies with) and de facto censorship (downvotes literally hide comments from view). Combined, this will lead to a cycle where only the opinions held by the majority will consid…

Perhaps hold back on the wedding and please DO NOT have a child with her yet. Good luck with this.

I've always treated them with dignity and respect, I know it's difficult for them as she has in the past spoken about me and my family in a derogatory manner. Oblivious to how they feel and emotionally damaging for them. I have never spoken to them about adult bullshit as you know it doesn't get you or them anywhere.

That's really cool! It will be alright, just fed up going through the courts. But needs must for them. Thanks :)

I thank you for your positivity, I actually want to just ignore these holidays too. Regarding the justice system, I have actually had a positive experience in my town, I got the contact I asked for, the judge was extremely supportive of me bringing my kids up. Although the communication has broken down atm, I will be looking to enforce the order which I will have no problem doing. She will recieve community service, so she's shooting herself in the foot really. Sad but true.

Well probably to do with the fact she has a new partner she refuses to discuss the importance of a shared parental responsibility and just sees it from her point of view. I have bought them some fantastic presents, i'm really hoping to see them by the weekend so will ensure they have a most fantastic time :) Also my fathers decision to walk out on us as kids and unwilling to keep contact, I never ever want them to feel the same way, so it's pretty personal.

I'm actually hoping to see them but yeah at least a phone call, although may be a bit emotional. She's been very unstable and unwilling to talk lately, so i'm looking at an enforcement for the contact in court asap.

What the fucking fuck. GENERAL SAFETY ADVICE It’s a good idea to: - Make a note of the number plate and driver’s licence number and text them to someone as an extra precaution - Take a picture of the vehicle - Always sit in the back of the vehicle - Carry your phone in your hand so it’s easily accessible "Um excuse me taxi man whilst a get a picture of your registration and text your car details to someone"

you've got to love The Suns neutral reporting. Top of the front page "Paedo Savilles gravestone smashed" for an UNCONVICTED person. Yet when the person isn't famous the headline is "Married mum has sex with ..." for a CONVICTED paedophile.

I have been in similar circumstances. I live in the UK but same situation, she told the school 'specifically' that I was NOT allowed to collect my son although I have shared parental responsibilities. She CHANGED my sons legal surname in school WITHOUT my consent, when I pulled the school up about it they told me there was nothing they could do, just that when both parents come to an agreement to let them know. Plus much more. The advice I would give you is to be prepared to be shat on from a gr…

Agree with everyone, there is not enough information here. Why has this not been to court already? One other point is that when I went to court I had no money either, I had to raise the funds just to get a hearing, but still much less than hiring some rip off lawyer. I represented myself and although it was hard work, it is possible.

I disagree, from my experience there are men who yearn for an emotional escape that has nothing to do with 'manly bonding' such as drinking round a campfire etc. Don't get me wrong I appreciate the bond I have with my friends and it means a lot, but they are not in the setting i'm looking for; to purely concentrate on the issues I have been through within a group of people that want to meet to gain some insight into their emotions, feelings and the difficulties and pressures we feel as men in th…

This is what i'm talking about, purely from a personal emotional point. It helped me, I really want to help others. speaking to some men and from some of the comments on here, I feel people don't get the jist of what I want to achieve. What i'm looking for is some starting points for the group ie relationships with fathers, what pressures within a family unit men have or what have you. Just being open and honest and yes confidential. Do you have some ideas that would help me out? Many thanks for…

I understand, I feel I could guide the session in a way that will tear down the walls if you like, to openly encourage honesty from the heart. I guess if the people involved want to mock etc then there will be no place for them.

All well and good but these are just things to take your mind away from the issues at hand. Plus I am trying to keep the group inexpensive. But if it works out then I guess we could bond. Thanks :)

I think I will. I feel like I was a bit harassed yesterday, it's just a shame society and some of these commentors don't understand that men have feelings just the same as a woman who would feel the same if it had happened to her.

I understand your view, i'm no saint and do have a laugh and can take the same back. But the situation today was i'm at work NOT in a place of fun and enjoyment where your inhibitions take a nose dive. I think there is a difference. My point is simply why is it ok in a normal shop setting for a woman to basically say get your clothes off, and yes the hypothetical reverse side is if a man did that in the SAME scenario he would be dealt with.

I told my son off for the first time last week since he's been (regularly) seeing me (every two weeks for two months) for constantly chasing the cat with a stick. His face totally swelled up and he burst into tears :( I felt terrible!!! But my senses soon came around and I stuck to my guns. I think (we both) were getting used to just hanging out and doing fun things all the time. Now he gets that we still have to be living a 'normal' life when he's with me and yes I bloody well will tell him if …

I am unaware of the laws in Canada, as I live in the UK. I had to go to court to see my son, it was tough. All I can suggest is to record EVERYTHING. Conversations, money given, emails, letters, phone calls etc. As I found out, if you have it recorded and show you are already the responsible father then it will work out for you and your son. (Basically it is unlikely your ex will have everything recorded, and if she decides to become nasty then the law will see you have acted in his best interes…

First of all, thanks! Secondly, I have thought things through regarding my post. She NEVER looked at reddit, and I doubt very much she ever would. Nobody around here even knows what reddit is. What is the difference in posting a picture of your kids on here or facebook where she has a LOT of pictures. I have endured a lot of crap over the years, I have heard others stories on reddit and seen what a help it can be for them and to just hear some positivity come out of a situation you feel lost in.…

Thanks, I actually represented myself in court. I paid court costs which were £250/$400, so saved a heap on lawyers fees. I did look into it and would have cost £2500/$4000 altogether.

To everyone who has given me some really kind words and optomism, I really, really appreciate it. Sometimes life is difficult and we have to get through without ever expecting it. You will feel like you have a heavy lead jacket surrounding you week after week with no way of getting it off. (My explanation). But as always time heals, although it seems like bullshit at the time. Me and my son are very close, it's such a shame for him and a heartache for me that she won't do the right thing for him and me, it's pretty much a formality I get contact. I find it difficult that dads who can't be bothered still get to see their kids and the ones who really want to keep in contact get screwed over!

Get out of it, she WILL end up stabbing you and then you will be dead and she will be in jail, who wins that one? I was being treated worse and worse over the years being hit more than once, I would never hit her back. I got out of it a month ago and didn't look back, you have to do it man otherwise you will spiral downwards pretty quickly. Good luck.
