I've observed this quite clearly in my case. I suspect that both lawyers may have been intentionally provoking my ex and me to prolong the proceedings.

Present your lawyer with the shared parenting plan that you want and get it as a court order. I understand it's tough to deal with lawyers, but in the long run, it gives stebility. If she disobeys, then at least there are courts to take care of it

Seems most of the things are going well for you in marriage. I would consider myself lucky if I were in similar kind of marriage. Divorce and dating again with kids involved is brutal and not to forget the impact it will have on kids. Keep working and expressing your concern regarding things you are not liking in your marriage. Hope you guys sort things out and stay together

I had a DV case against me. The cops did not arrest me since there was no DV. My ex asked me to leave the house for the night or she would. I left as I did not want to stress mother and child(Mistake-2). Next morning when I returned she left with my son, all the jewelry and expensive items. No contact. One week from then I got TRO against me, thrown out of the house by the sheriff. Right before all this she was swiping my credit card and purchasing things worth thousands of $. I ignored it as I …

Life is tough after divorce with kids. Everyone thinks about single mom’s and I have noticed there are tons of people who help single moms especially other moms but there is hardly anyone who helps single dads. Adding to that child support, ongoing baby expenses are on top of that. I’m in the same boat where 20% of my net paycheck is gone.

I am from OH. I have my kid for 5 days in 2 weeks but still somehow my attorney was able to add it in the contract that I am able to claim him as dependent on even years. But yeah lost a lot of money during the process. The whole concept of marriage sucks!

If I had to start over again, I would go with a working woman and have kids right after the wedding, the reason being that since she is working hard in her career, she might find it hard to take care of kids alone and career and will stick with you for long time. Even if the marriage goes sideways from there, you can just walk away, keeping everything you earned and probably even more.

If you are entitled for that money you should try to get it. Maybe save it for your child's activities in future.

Divorce with two toddlers is very tough. Its relatively easy to take care of them when two people are together and a lot tougher individually. Your dissatisfaction is very valid but I would try to find out other ways to make up for it if everything else is perfect in your life.

This is my story including going to jail. Be prepared for a long court battle for Divorce. Its good that you do not have kids (Dealing with such nasty people for years almost feels like ruined life) I had a dog and son. My wife gave the dog away.

Karma is true, but waiting for it to work might bring you more pain (what if your ex actually builds a successful relationship) World is full of hardships and pain and people like your ex and mine make it more difficult but what I have learnt is to accept and just focus on yourself. Don't let anything that happens around you effect you in any way. That might bring you peace. Its a lot tougher to do it compared to just saying but lets try.

Now if you bring up the divorce, she will start being good for a while and hit you back when things are more comfortable for her. If you’re planning divorce, do not bring it up with her. Serve the papers directly and proceed from there. I’m only saying this because she refuses therapy which proves she has no will to change to make it a better relationship.

I agree with most of people here on Gym, Reading, eating healthy and other things. What I also do is whenever I get angry because of how things are going, I close my eyes, relax my body and let the thoughts pass through. After few min your brain makes compromise with the situation. One thing I would caution is not do extra gym being angry.

I am sorry your going through this situation. It must be really hard but it is what it is. Be very careful from now on. You both seem to be in good terms but that does not mean everything will end well. My ex got me my favorite pizza before trying to put a fake DV case against me. She was also snooping through my phone and trying to get all the passwords. I am not saying this will happen to you but be careful from now on. That's what I think is the main issue. They will never be reformed and be straightforward. The reason being it will send multiple lawyers and judges out of business. How difficult it is make a straightforward law which says divorce is 50-50 division of assets. Cap the child support max at $1000.

Almost similar situation. I feel like I wasted last 4 years of my life and the trauma that legal system gave me will waste another 1 or 2 maybe. I stopped thinking about savings, future or current situation for time being and try to keep my brain as empty as possible hoping for things to get better but one thing I can say for sure is my ex became much worse after she retained a lawyer(really expensive one). Things didn't work out. ok! take your half and leave. But no! they want everything.

This is one of the funny law in India that if a couple live in a live in relationship kind of arrangement, the women can go to the court and force the man to marry him. The reason being she tells the court that she went into the live in relationship because he promised to marry her. Even then if the man refuses to marry her then she can file for rape case against him. Sure he can still come out of it but it takes at least few years and till then there will be rape case on his background check. I…

Its your mistake to get married without proper knowledge. Now do not punish her because of that. Be in her shoes and try to feel it if your partner was doing it to you. Ok, for spousal support, go for post nup. Child support are not that bad. If you calculate everything you would end up spending like 75% of it anyways if you’re together. Going into marriage with Divorce in head is not great idea(do not get married at all instead). Just give your best to your family and I am pretty sure the way y…

Our dog was gifted by ex’s family. I took care of her each and every day for 3 years! We used to go for long drives to friends houses, long walks, trekking etc. Was a part of my life, part of every picture I took, part of all my activities! We did not register her together(just her name as I never imagined such situation would ever come). My ex got the dog and then she gave her away for adoption! That news teared me apart. I hate most of the advice my lawyer gives me, but in the long run, they are proving to be correct. During the process, there are chances we think with anger and just expect the lawyer to say we can get that, but in courts, most of the things don't hold up. Again, I do not know the suggestions you got, but there is a possibility of this too.

If I were you, I would get out of this relationship. It's all about love, and when it's not there, and if it's about some agreement, it never works. It's good that she got caught, but would she do all that if she did not? If you welcome her back, she will start squandering your money and create unwanted quarrels, then DV, CPO, and you lose all your advantages.

I am lucky on that part as I was married for just 3 years, but I feel bad for people who have to pay that. I keep saying this on multiple posts. All women have to do is seduce a hardworking man and have a kid. Its like a retirement plan for them. The judicial system is even worse. They just keep the imbalance so that the couples keep fighting. At the end of the day, a failed marriage would have made two lawyers rich, extra money for the CS system, a depressed and broken man, and an egocentric wo…

I will be having my son 2 days and ex will have him for 5 days in a week. With 15 days in summer and 15 days in winter, my son will be with me for 40% of total time. 2 major issues The amount of money legal industry makes with all the divorces, they will never allow the laws to be partial. Who would want to hire a lawyer if they knew they cannot gain something extra which forces the defending party to hire another lawyer to protect themselves The ethics of few women going down where they feel if the husband is not good enough for them, then find a new one who is. The raise in fake DV cases shows how low they can go to get what they want. How is fake DV case …

My ex used it against me. Once I was vacated from the home(was only given 10 min) she stole all the jewellery out from the house. Then she claimed that she does not have any and that I took it all with me when I vacated. It also gave her the luxury of marital home and I was the one to leave and find accommodation on a very short notice which I might not have done if she just wanted Divorce. She used a loophole in the law which was created to protect people in real danger to her advantage.

Essentially at every step of the divorce for some reason the guy looks bad! All it needs for the women is to look sad/cry, especially from the conservative background that I am coming from. Like nobody is really interested in the amount of planning that she did, all the fake cases and the amount of child support she gets. All that everyone sees is a struggling mom with kid. Nobody cares about the struggling dad, the pain of not being around with the kids enough.

This is what my lawyer said. Your ex is going to move your son in 2 days. Even though we object it it might be a week before we get an appointment with Judge. Now the judge will be hesitant to move him back to the old one again(maybe because its daycare and not school).
/r/Divorce_Men09/12/22 02:41 PM

If you have proof that she assaulted you, why not get a CPO against her and file for divorce? By her actions it seems that's her end goal too so you do it first to get an advantage.

I keep asking my lawyer why I am the one always on losing side in this case and why there are no options for me whereas the other side just does whatever. She stays silent I wish judges take counter suing seriously so that these people are on check. She placed me on CPO, was thrown out of house, and was kept away from baby. The judge dismissed the CPO on the first hearing. Ok, now what about the pain I have gone through staying away from my house and baby??

OP did not say that all she does is sit on couch and watch Netflix and if OP thinks he couldn't find a better wife, maybe she is doing lot more than that. Its just that she is not living upto his expectations. I am not taking sides here but I do not think being a bit lazy is the right reason to leave spouse. If your spouse is a good person I would suggest not to leave her. Its common at some point in marriage to have such kind of feelings but leaving a nice person is not worth all that fun. I would suggest developing hobbies and find people who like to do similar kind of things (apps like meetup might help). There are plenty of nasty women out there who will do anything to make you fell in love with them but all they really want is your money and will ditch you in the most cruel way once they get wh…

Sorry to hear that you are going through this. You should have left her the first time she cheated as has no respect for you or your feelings. Cut all the ties with your wife and focus on yourself and your kids.

In my case wife got a CPO stating that my I am a threat to my child and herself. Then the sheriff's officer came and sent me out of the house. The CPO was dismissed but before it got dismissed ex filed for divorce. So the judge allowed her to live in the house since she was already living there with son. This might happen to you since my wife too tried to file a fake DV case against me first before doing all this.

There are chances for her to move back and claim child support even for 50-50 custody. If there is huge income difference (you mentioned she does not have money), you might have to pay substantial amount. In my case its $900 plus half the daycare costs. Just a suggestion of scenario which might happen.

That's a really nice home in a good school district. If my wife wants to stay there with my son, I am fine with that. Only thing is I am not sure if she will be able to pay the mortgage of $2800+ utilities with her salary. When I asked her this question she said she is not decided yet which I found odd as she is asking me to close the house without deciding on what to do with it while the process would be finished in just a month. That 25K is not refundable. Thanks a lot for your suggestion though. I was inclined to do the same too but sometimes I feel sad I might be missing out on money(selling after closing which might get us 50K extra) which could be used for my son.
/r/Divorce_Men06/09/22 04:26 AM

We have paid the initial deposit of 25K for a new 420K home. The builder said they are planning to close the home next month. My wife(she filed for divorce 2 months ago) texted saying she wants us to close the home. I asked her if she wants to sell it after closing and she said she is not decided yet weather to keep it or sell it. Her salary is not enough to take on the loan by herself. Is she tricking me into something? Note: She filed a fake DV case against me which is closed now.
