Well as someone who as lived there for many years, just like you have, that comment was for anyone who might think negatively about the Middle East and its societal ways specifically with respect to men vs. women duties. Maybe it could've been worded better.. but Taliban? Seriously? I definitely didn't insinuate that. This is a Men's Rights subreddit, not politics. I believe CCTV footage captured is usually video only. Audio is not allowed as it is governed under separate laws. There are exceptional circumstances and I'm not sure if recordings with cabs fall under this. I guess all I'm saying is there could be a good chance a smartphone app recording might not allowed in all cases as a viable evidence alternative. I wonder if we have any lawyers in this subreddit who could clarify.

It's a fair argument you make here. And it would totally possible to do it as well. But the moment someone says "let's build a men's shelter" for example, the hardcore elements from the other faction thwarts it at every step (Violent protests, framing it in the media as patriarchy revival or whatever). I haven't personally seen an example in life where protectionism aimed at a particular group on the basis on equal outcome yielded any positive results in the long run. I, for one, would love to see 'equal opportunity supported by meritrocracy' make a comeback. But I'm afraid we're far too gone for that one. Anyhoo, good luck with your application.

I'm not sure this is a feminist thing per-say. For example in politics, you could be labelled something over-reaching just because of your position on a particular issue. The EU Gender Ruling means that most young women are now paying more for their car insurance. So, wait, equality is unfair to women? We don’t think this is fair as we know young women are safer drivers than young men. There is no data cited for this. A quick Google search revealed 2 articles from 2011 and 2012 which cited studies showing women are more dangerous behind the wheel than their male counterparts. I stopped at just those two points. In this entire chapter, all I've heard is "there are diferences", "they are telling lies". Ok what's the evidence? Differences are bound to happen within any movement. But, can't she get past the mud slinging and focus on the bigger issue. Don't like the direction? Leave, state why (succinctly once or twice), start your own thing and move on. I think defeating the stigma is impossible,... But why would you think that? We've essentially changed the stigma around gay marriage, possession of weed, and women getting equal rights (feminism). History is practically riddled with these examples. It's not easy work but surely, it can be done.

Don't you think the reason why the male shelter model doesn't work is because of Misunderstanding - politicians and the groups that influence them refusing to recognize that males can be victims and need help (results in no funding) Stigma - A man reaching out for help, in most cases is considered laughable and make him "weak" I'm not so sure it's a flaw with the model itself. Maybe its juvenile correction, maybe a 1000 hours of community service? I dunno to be honest. ...especially if the accuser is an 11 year old girl who probably can't understand all the social dynamics of the situation. I'm not sure this is a men's rights issue. I've not personally been to Saudi Arabia but I've heard even malls have segregated sections for men and women. It's got more to do with the religious and cultural laws that are explicitly designed to keep single men and single women apart. Given that context, I'm of the opinion that this is a good thing for Saudi women.

The longer people hesitate to punish sexual assault/rape liars with the same "Thor Hammer Intensity" as assault perpetrators/rapists...it's going to be simliar to that "lad lass who cried wolf" story. No one is going to want to believe anything they hear and the legit cases (from both sexes) are the ones that are going to suffer. What a shame.

Forget the wage gap for a minute. What is the face of poverty in the United States? A mother and her child. The Census.gov website provides some poverty data. What's more they've broken it down based on sex. A simple look at that data shows, that in 2011, 13.6% of males and 16.3% of females were classified as poor.
