1	How Tinder works. I think. Yes, sorry, I meant 0.9 out of every 10. For total randomness, which doesn't apply due to all the other factors (interests, pics etc.). 1	How Tinder works. I think. I read Tinder stated there is an average 'like' rate of 30%. That means there is a 0,9% (30%x30%) chance of matching with the average stranger. Then there are a few criteria Tinder probably selects to improve match-chances (age, distance, shared interests & friends). Third variable is timing, some people don't look that often, so there can be a rather large delay in matching.
