I never dismissed her list as irrelevant or pointless. I do agree with some of her points, though I think a lot of them swing both ways more than she'd like to think. I personally never try to think of it as us vs them, especially when interacting with individuals.

Some are slightly out date, but these should be able to get you a decent start: Suicide Rates Workplace Deaths I can't find the precise source for the 85% custody rate. I do however know it was referenced in girlwritewhat's latest blog post, I'll have to see if I can find it through her.

She is very... passionate. I'll give her that. Really, as we get along fabulously until either this topic or religion is brought up. I sort of wrote this with the intention of it being as noninflammatory as possible, in case I do put it up on Facebook. That's why I tried to stick to as few us vs them comments as possible.

I've been the target of three muggings, one of which was successful and occurred in broad daylight, was nearly assaulted by a local gang, and was physically harassed while traveling abroad. While I'm most likely a statistical anomaly, and I do live in a much better area now, I'm still really paranoid when I'm walking around town.
