Ruh-roh As a prediction of the storm of downvotes I expected for that comment. Also, I was hoping for a little further explanation of that comment, and I got it. Makes plenty sense now, thanks :-)

I agree with this. If I like a guy, I'll find him on facebook first. If he likes me, he can ask for my number and send me a text. But if you are on facebook, send actual messages-- not the little IM's in the corner.

Again, female perspective, you are completely wrong here. I can't even express how wrong.

Sometimes I like coming to Seddit. And sometimes I see rational comments like this have been downvoted far below where they should be. And then I don't come back to Seddit anymore. :(

Female perspective here: Sometimes, we women will go out to a club just to have fun. We may or may not make out with someone there, but we go without plans to go home with someone. There will be times, regardless of what you do, in which a woman will not take it to the next level. Please understand this.

Just knock on her door, say you had some free time and wanted to say hi. That's all. :-)

Join things! If I think you're just another engineer who spends his days in the engineering hall with the other engineers, I'll definitely be less interested than I would be in someone with hobbies and interests outside of that sphere. Besides that, just be cheerful and friendly- you're at an advantage if you're in the same classes as some of the girls in engineering- study breaks and all. My university's engineering program is maybe 28% female, and we're open to dating engineers. Nerdy is okay,…

That's probably a little better then us-- here we get about a hundred noncommittal girls who stop by once and never come back, meaning we have to deal with teaching a lesson for so many, for no reason at all. Hmm, I don't know about that scale. The ballroom girls here at my college are all pretty gorgeous ;). I'd say that's more true for the men. But I think your hot girls who don't stick with the ballroom clubs just head out to the nightclubs, or do other sports or just run on treadmills, rathe…

I always assumed it would be a pain-- so glad I only have to follow it. (Although we're low on leads so I probably should be learning this fall, to make it easier to teach the club.) Not many of us tackle Viennese as it is, but when it's right, it's probably my favorite dance.

Do you know, I have only had to deal with one-- a guy in swing club, but he was so socially awkward that he was quieter than the general run of those creepy guys. And he took a lot of night classes, and so he couldn't come as often as he would have otherwise, luckily for us. What I find interesting is the number of new girls who are scared off by the idea of dancing with guys-- normal, nice, handsome dancers, not even the creepy one-- and these are the same new girls who will grind up against st…

!!!! My favorite night of my freshman year of college was the first night I was able to dance Viennese with a guy who really knew it. I can't tell you how true this is-- the spinning and the weightlessness and the princess feeling really resonates with us.

Can you try each one out for a few meetings before you decide? It's really just a personal choice. Salsa and swing come with two very different atmospheres, and they each have their followers. Maybe get a feel for the size of the club, the members themselves, and the type of music played. You'll meet plenty of girls in either sphere-- it's just a matter of which dance you'd be more excited to learn. I'm a university girl in a ballroom club that includes salsa and swing, as well as a separate swi…

I downvoted you, too. I know this was two days ago, but could you explain your stance on the quotes you post, or why they are valuable here, instead of just posting them? Because I'm pretty sure you're not Otto Weininger or Camille Paglia...

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
