You have one life. Forcing yourself to be with someone who does not love you nor respect you is a poor way to spend your life. It will hurt at first, but after a while you will be happier.

You get one life. You have to look out for #1 (you). Try to be as happy as you can but as nice to everyone as possible.

I had the same experience except no ass eating. Ended in divorce. Good luck. You are right that some women see marriage as the end goal and then fall over. I hope you got a pre-nup.

If you're open to advice, then I will share the advice I took from someone after mine. Go on a solo trip. Maybe a cruise or road trip. And reconnect with old friends.

If you love her, then ask her to go to marriage counseling with you. If you do go together, then decide if you're going to make it work or not. If you do, then follow through on your end and re-assess. If she declines the opportunity for counseling or if you don't love her enough to try, then file for divorce.

You are right. She was still immature. "I want to be a wife," she said, until she did that and then realized there's more left to do haha. Nah no kids yet thankfully. It only lasted 2.5 years until she asked for the divorce. Fortunately I had a pre-marital agreement so I kept everything I had. She started another relationship two months later with someone younger with more hobbies & interests they share. I was in counseling for a while but eventually found someone better for me. I grew up thinki…

My ex was cooperative and fun until after the honeymoon. She got the wedding she wanted and the honeymoon to Maui that she wanted. But my ex was 21 when I was 28. She wasn't ready to be married. I had caved against my intentions to wait until she graduated college because people change. She got mad about that and so I proposed to make her happy... Dumb! After the honeymoon until the divorce she spent almost all of her free time on the couch playing The Sims and watching Kardashians or Below Deck…

Yes, it seemed like she met her goal of getting married and then didn't care anymore. It was like she flipped a switch overnight.

I was 30 with 2.5 years of marriage. It took me 11 months of weekly counseling. I still miss the good times. A key thing for me besides counseling was going on a trip all by myself. I had a lot more money that wasn't being spent so I spent a bunch of it on vacations and gear for hobbies. Realize the blessing in the divorce. You two were not made to be for each other. There is someone better for you. This video was helpful for me: https://youtu.be/8HeKcANH2KA. You will get through it, brother!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
