I work in a shop that has a serious hardon for Milwaukee. I used Makita and Dewalt a lot previously, mostly good experiences with both. The battery life on the Milwaukees is bad, but otherwise they seem like good drills/quickie saws.

Every person has an equilibrium and once you figure out where that equilibrium is, it is up to you to walk the line and keep your desire for consumption under control. Why? I consider a suit the clothing of modern slavery. Sure, look nice and stuff, but I have no need for a suit and it would be a waste of money to have one hanging in my closet. If I need one, I can go and rent one tailored to fit, just like prom oh so many years ago.

yes, it changes the flavor completely. This is called "releasing the serpent" because if you put an ice cube or slowly add water, it makes a neat pattern inside the glass until it is well mixed. The water sort of weaves its way in like a (you guessed it) snake. I find my favorite way to taste a new scotch is always neat first, then add 2 regular size ice cubes and continue sipping as they melt until I need to fill up again.

Seconding the joint or a pipe. If I am breaking out the cigars, then I usually go with Cognac. Im not a huge fan, but pairing them together is the only way I have enjoyed either. Each on their own is....meh.

Some cheap blended scotches try very hard to be extra smokey, I would liken it to pouring liquid smoke into a bottle of whiskey. There is no substitute for time in a barrel and not being "watered down" by blending.

Sure, scotch gets pricey fast though. I started at a tasting hosted by a local society of Scottish clans. Easily one of my favorite groups of people. Going to a tasting is the best way to try many varietys of good scotch without shelling out $50+ a bottle. Or have a "bring a bottle" party and hope you don't get too many cheap asses bringing Johnnie walker.
