It's a misleading statistic. It counts total number of attempts, not average per person. If a person tries three times before succeeding, it would be counted as three attempts, whereas someone who tries and succeeds once is counted as one attempt. More total attempts have been committed by women, but women are still less likely to want to kill themselves. It's just those who do go down as more than one attempt.

Yes it does. Regardless of why the act was originally made, the fact is that men are being forced to fight for a cause they may/may not believe in. I get the feeling that if young women were going to be killed, many of the less "necessary wars," i.e. Vietnam, Iraq, etc. would've never occurred. I've heard people in the MRM bring up things that apply specifically to gay men, i.e. negative stereotypes and difficulty with being able to adopt. And of course in some countries It is illegal to be a gay man, but OK to be a lesbian. I've met and discussed with many of them, many are simply uninformed about feminism and don't do much research on men's issues or feminism, that's why they think it's about equality.
