I’m 24 breh, a lot of men just start prioritizing other things in life, the rules don’t really change the man changes

Ah yes, the classic “you must be offended so I’m right and won’t elaborate further” I thought we were having a good discussion but if you got nothing else to add no worries 👍

I really don’t think that men have less supportive environments than women at a young age - I’ve yet to see a clear example of this in the western world. The internet can be harsh on struggling men, but the same is true for literally anyone. The argument being presented here is that men put all of their chips on validation from sex and relationships - and for many men this is true, no matter what other validation they may get from academics, leadership skills, athletics, etc. (and yes, people th…

Listen, it’s not my job to soften up the language for the struggling men who read this forum lol, but if you actually want to engage with my point I’ll let you have another go.

Of course it can affect both genders, nobody will deny that, but if it didn’t affect a man’s self esteem more we wouldn’t have these large incel communities filled with men pop up that try to dehumanize women. At some point or another, if we want to help men get better we have to accept that society has beat it into our brains that men are worthless if you’re undesirable to women, it’s a lived experience of men as per your point. To deny that is to deny the ill effects of the patriarchy on men.

I have a girlfriend now but I think becoming comfortable with who I am before my current relationship made it affect my self esteem less more than anything else

I think she’s just making a good observation, deriving your self esteem from other relationships and sexual success is obviously unhealthy. She’s not looking down on you or other men, she’s just asking a question and trying to have a better understanding of why men feel this way.

I would say yes, it’s a huge factor for the majority of men. I would say it’s more dependent on the type of women the man wants to attract (and I would say most of the men I’ve interacted with either in my social circle/on these subreddits tend to be attracted to the same type of women, conventionally attractive “traditional” women, so to speak). If a woman shows interest and they don’t fit the criteria of the type of woman they’re interested in, it does nothing for the majority of men’s self es…
/r/PurplePillDebate20/03/24 08:10 AM

To be fair the guy in that original thread was being overdramatic and vague, I don’t think that’s a real example of stepping over someone’s boundaries. Men talk about the same things all of the time and no one really bats an eye either way. I don’t really know why anyone is weird about talking about their sexual preferences or the fact they’re satisfied in their sex life? I feel like I talk about these things to my friends (regardless of gender) all of the time. I can see being upset if your fia…
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/24 09:22 AM

I can empathize with your points more now, I’ve felt a similar way in the past. After a while I think I just felt grossed out by the fact that I only ever pursued women for my own selfish purposes, and I began to have an ill feeling about women that pursued me for those same things. Now I’m not sure if that’s why you feel the way you do so I won’t assume, but I know that’s why my perspective changed. I’m in a relationship now that isn’t draining at all, and I don’t feel like I’m just a convenien…

1- no, people who go to MIT aren’t more likely to be virgins because of intelligence, it’s due to the fact that MIT is a pretty gruelling school to be in compared to a community college. So obviously the people at MIT are prioritizing their careers and futures over relationships. Relationships and even casual sex take time and effort (no matter the gender) 2- lol, no. Men that believe this are typically projecting about the fact that they want women that are submissive to them (yet still believe…
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/24 04:41 AM

2 is obviously correct, 3 I can sort of agree on but I think you and I have different reasons why we believe that’s true. Your first point ironically puts you in the same category as the guys in your second point, the men that claim to “understand” women and believe usually are the most vocal about their dating woes and how all women are the same. Hence, women must be unlovable. There are plenty of examples of relationships that show this is untrue, and if you don’t have any examples in your clo…

it could be argued that how you dress is a part of flirting But you literally can’t argue that - flirting is just an interaction lol. How you dress might change how others interact with you, but it doesn’t change how you interact with them.

Yeah of course, I only seem to date bi women after all lmao. Only straight girl I’ve ever dated was by far my worst relationship

I really don’t think this is true, both genders face a lot of negative consequences for showing weakness. However, men and women do tend to get different reactions, I.e. men get told to toughen up, women don’t get taken seriously. Men detailing preferences in their partners concerning appearance, behavior, or past relationships can be rapidly dismissed as 'shallow' or 'misogynistic'. In contrast, women with analogous criteria might face less critique, often receiving support or validation for th…

I’m not talking about common interests, I’m talking about the lack of relatability because both people are in completely different stages of life

You can literally say the same thing about men lmao. Yes people who are different ages are most likely going to value different things, what’s your point?

the implication that women you don’t find attractive are all bad people is wild lol pursue platonic relationships with women (whether you find them attractive or not) and you’ll soon realize this isn’t the case

Most normal people don’t deal with terms like SMV lmao, and I can guarantee you category 2 doesn’t actually help anyone. Maybe they can sleep around with shallow clout chasers, but realistically what fulfillment does a person actually get from that.

I mean I don’t think anyone reasonable actually cares as long as they’re not a teenager lmao, but it’s because the relationship becomes very shallow as you likely have nothing in common aside from sex.

It might happen. It might not. I think the only way forward - not just for men but women as well - is work towards being the best possible version of themselves, and understand that a relationship with a woman isn’t the end all be all to our existence.

This perception is common in guys who see their date as an object lmao - talking with people isn’t a gruelling task, your not their to woo them and do a whole mating dance. Just be yourself and have fun, and if you don’t click then just move on it’s not a big deal.

I don’t think you will find them here because they’re out enjoying life with no complaints lol, but the emotional connection between someone else who has the same goals as you is a feeling like no other. Bad relationships exist of course, but we learn how to avoid those as we get older :) I think the real question should be: why does a woman have to be a negative presence in a man’s life?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/09/23 12:21 AM

So for example let’s say someone wealthy marries someone poor and the poor person threatens to initiate divorce. Prenups exist, they don’t completely discount someone from being screwed over but they help. What are some strategies that both men and women can take to avoid vender lock in? Make sure, and I mean REALLY make sure that when you take big steps with your partner like moving in together, marriage etc. that you know this person well and is someone you can see spending the rest of your li…

I think a lot of people like to paint other groups with the same brush to rationalize their thoughts. I don’t think there is any wrong way to live life as long as you enjoy it :)

By talking to real life human people? It’s nearly impossible to get solid qualitative data on “body counts” or preferences anyhow so what’s the point in trying to reduce people to numbers? To confirm your biases on women and to justify your preferences? I’m not going to judge you if you want a partner who hasn’t slept around, but I’m certain as you’ve gotten older the highest “n” or whatever that a women can have to be relationship material in your eyes has gone up. Most “blue pill” men also car…

“Alpha males” as in people that watch red pill content and try to follow the lifestyles presented in said content? Absolutely not lmao and I don’t think you could convince any sane person otherwise
/r/PurplePillDebate09/09/23 02:09 AM

I would say most men generally care less and less about this as they get older, whether they believe in the red pill or not. It’s your prerogative to believe that it’s due to “lack of options”, but the reality is that a lot of men realize that female attention isn’t the end all be all to our existence.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/09/23 01:59 AM

I think men that look up to people like Andrew Tate often feel slighted by society, and these role models appear to have it all and most importantly, have done it all on their own due to their “alpha” nature. This is why young men often feel empowered by “alpha” personalities, because they give off the illusion that they don’t need anybody else in their lives to emotionally support them. The best remedy for this is obviously more active fathers and/or more emotionally available male role models.…

I'm sure what we consider "average" is different, because I personally wouldn't say so. Id say, if anything, is that you should surround yourself with good people and you'll come to find that these "standards" aren't as true as they seem.

I would say from mine and my friends experiences, a large proportion of healthy relationships came to be because of the woman making the first move. This might not be true for everyone obviously because this is my own anecdotal evidence, but I would say that most women looking for relationships will want to approach rather than be approached. I think a lot of it is because most good women don't want to adhere to the weird patriarchal standards of relationships, and most red pill people are strug…

For most people it isn't, I think some red pill people struggle with this one simply because they're unapproachable lol

Sure they do, but they're so worried about being a cuck that they'd rather dehumanize a woman for having sex once than go to therapy

So it's entirely the woman's fault for being in a bad relationship?

this has got to be one of the most chronically online viewpoints of relationships I've ever seen lol. you know you can talk to women outside of dating apps, right?

would she have dated me before she became a single mom. People change for the better or worse and change preferences all the time, what matters is that she's into you now. It's unhealthy to fixate on someone else's past. The second question you have to ask is "What do I gain out of it". Is she attractive and young? Or is she 30 and you'll be raising another man's kids? If that's the first thing that you're concerned about for a long-term partner, you shouldn't be in the dating game

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
