you are a douche. what do you suggest? maybe he should fuck a bitch up? and if he can't hit a bitch, should he choke a bitch? shake a bitch? retard. your comment would make sense if we're talking some 300 pound behemoth and her 120 pound punching bag husband... but it doesn't sound like it. he said he has taken to restraining her when she gets violent... so obviously he's stronger. so, should he just kick her fucking ass for touching him? awesome suggestion. i bet he'd be in jail within 24 hours…

bah, i'm done responding to fools like you. this thread is dead, or the OP is. either way, fuck it.

you misunderstand me. i'm trying to put myself in his shoes... if it was my wife, and she has started acting crazy recently and is getting physically/mentally abusive, i would think i'd owe it to her and our marriage to try and get her help, not just abandon the situation and run. if it was any random girlfriend i've had, i'd be out the door.

i am assuming she's not just a maniac criminal who is out for blood - i'm just erring on the side of being nice to my wife in this instance. if it was a girlfriend, i'd say bail on her stupid ass. but he's married to this woman. PRESUMABLY he didn't ask her to marry him while she was abusing the shit out of him. and if he did... well then i have no more advice for this fool.

saying that female is worse than male in this respect is not making your reasoning more plausible. you think she'll be more stubborn and unwilling to admit she's wrong because she's a woman, eh? i tire of this whole thread because it is 10% reasonable, 85% escapist and 5% douchebag. my opinion, stated multiple times, is that he should try - somehow, in some way - to help his WIFE fix her shit. when you get married, your lives are joined. running out on her when she's crazy and fucked up is like …

there is never a promise of success when things are hard - if people gave up when the going got tough, we wouldn't have a fraction of what we do now. the same holds true in love. and we are not saying he should stay there with her throughout the process... obviously he could be at risk! he should do SOMETHING though, be it stay with some friends while the process moves forward or whatever. the whole point is, i don't think he should just up and bail without trying first. in some way.

i know the OP is reaching out for some guidance/suggestions here... but dude, you are talking to REDDIT. 80% of us are callous assholes who are bored at work. this is not the forum for serious help. talk to a psychologist, talk to your wife when she is NOT pissed off and see about getting help for the both of you. if it doesn't work, then be done with it. none of the process will be easy, but there is no easy way to fix this shit.

there is no difference. you don't hit. especially if you are a guy who is physically more powerful than his wife... that is the quickest way to go to jail. not to mention it is fucked up.

she didn't actually stab him. assault with a deadly weapon (or even aggravated assault) implies she ACTUALLY attempted it. she stood there and threatened him... there's a very distinct difference. i'm not saying it is right or that it could potentially go bad in the future, but that hasn't happened yet.

if my wife pulled a knife on me, but didn't stab me, i would demand us to go to counseling or i'd leave. simple as that. if i pulled a knife on her but didn't stab her, i would expect the same - when you love someone and shit goes bad, you have to TRY. now, if someone actually got stabbed... bitch's head goes through a wall before i drop from loss of blood. in this situation, though, there was no assault, just a threat. they need help.

not to mention divorce isn't "easy" - shit can take years if she holds out on the process. god forbid if there are kids involved... people are so stupid and heartless. she's his WIFE - he has an obligation "for better or worse" at least to try first. and if they have joint bank accounts and she rapes all his money? joint credit cards and racks up thousands in debt? kills herself? suggestions of bailing on a bad situation are stupid. there are consequences to being a douchebag - running away does…

after seeing all the upvotes for positive karma on the douchebags saying RUN RUN RUN FUCK HER RUN JUST DIVORCE HER, i realize how sad the world really is. counseling first... if she won't go or it doesn't work over time, then get divorced. divorce shouldn't be the FIRST damn thing you try. that's just horseshit, and it certainly isn't something that is the "easy way out" - shit could take years to get through if she pushes back. you are all idiots.

marriage counseling? fuck man, the stupidest thing you can do is let it continue. at least if you suggest it to her, maybe she'll consider her actions. don't listen to the jackasses saying RUN, BITCH! that's horseshit. you need to try first, then run if it doesn't work. obviously you feel loyalty to your marriage and love for your wife, despite her treatment of you... get help for both of you - maybe she just has an anger problem and needs medication. she needs help, obviously. go ahead and aban…
