Good write up. I'm going to have to read this one a couple times. I agree wholeheartedly that I operate from more of a scarcity mindset. I believe in abundance of opportunity but hold everything I have in a bubble and stay pretty risk adverse. Which is your point. I have noted score keeping on MRP as a way to clear my mind and provide example to the situation. I wouldn't consider myself a scorekeeper inside the relationship but someone who is not getting the same value return for the value broug…

Right now the commitment I made to marriage. After some re-reading last night I also need to accept that people are lazy, boring, and human. Same as me. I might be more driven that those I surround myself with but still don't function robotically. I miss workouts, go a day without making a sale, put off mowing an extra day. There is a human element to keep in mind. Granted I need to be more overtly clear in what I want but also need to recognize people are just that...people.

You hit the nail on the head. There is no inspiration. I'm doing what I'm supposed to. And it does work for me but it's fairly bland day to day. I've also done some re reading and new reading of nice guy theory over night. No matter how I try to bury it part of me says I'm doing these things for myself but you're reaping the rewards of being under my umbrella. I don't speak up about it to my wife because "actions not words". Well that is nice guy 101 to sit in this mentality and not speak my act…

I’ve gone back and forth over this. “She’s a reflection of me”. If that was the case she’d show passion. She’d have initiative in herself. Drive. I challenge myself to put my phone down throughout a show or during dinner, or with friends. I set goals for further financial independence. I plan the out of town or state adventures. Pay the bills. Come up with date nights. Initiate and dress well. Improve my body image. Those should all be reflecting back at me if that’s the case. But let’s say I am…

It's not unreasonable. In fact my gay aunts do the same. However why is she the exception to that rule? Rewarded with calm sanity and a clean kitchen after the grueling task of making a dinner. Yet any standard I set, is to be for me only and she is simply there to take up air and space as I maneuver around to get done what I would otherwise do as a single man. The requirements of a single woman would be none. Live at home or with friends anything goes.

I'm seeking validation through my expectations that she come to the table and provide something, physically, emotionally, intellectually. A father figure provides without those expectations. Yet that is how I am mostly likely perceived as I don't react with contracts and expectations. I do these things because that's how I would live if I was single.

"Figure it out" sounds like a good motto for someone who is 18 and in most circumstances a legal adult/majority. A 16 year old needs guidance and will most always take the handout. When you spend time with your kid offer to pay him for some help you need around the house, or your job. Make it a fairly attractive offer so he is excited about the offer. Hell negotiate with him and teach him that tactic as well. Financial independence is actually really fun, the hard part is shifting your mindset t…

Obviously the main point and focus continues to be on frame. Another way to put this example, in a large group context, is a simple toast of gratitude to the hosts. Whenever I go to a dinner party, extended stay, etc, hosted by friends or family that I don't see often I make a point to toast whoever prepared and hosted. Why? I've been on the prep side and it's work getting ready for an event I am grateful for the hospitality, time and money they spent No one else has the balls to do it but every…

at 6'5 200 let me tell you I still get referenced as skinny. 179 is borderline anemic at our height. I'm going for the Thor look. It'll take 210-215 and 10-12% to get there but it'll happen. I wear size large shirts and at 217 i was filling the arms out well but the love handles were too, bf closer to 20%. At 200lbs they aren't as fitting as they could be compared with the extra LEAN mass I'm trying to put on. Wife's friend said she heard I had abs though and gave me the hand test haha that was …

Definitely do not "do something on purpose to make her angry". Focus on your shit and I'm sure she'll find someway to get under your skin and you probably won't even realize it until after you lost your cool. Judging by your well itemized list here you need to stop the research and start doing. Get to the gym and lift light weights with good form. I do agree I need to eat more which is why I'm back to tracking. My first "bulk" was pretty dirty and after cutting it appears I put on mostly fat and not a lot of muscle. Which is why I've been hesitant to really amp calories back up. However the scale doesn't lie which hasn't seemed to move much, but the progress pictures are showing a little more fat than muscle again. A lot of it is mental gymnastics and I need to commit and eat again (clean).

biggerleanstronger is 3 sets of 4-6. So heavy weights. Leave 1-2 reps in tank. Compound lift emphasis. Bench, Squat, Dead, OHP. He says you can rotate to 6-8 rep as well. I like the program because it's simple and straightforward, I have physically and mentally plateaued except dead I added weight last week. I do agree I need to eat more which is why I'm back to tracking. I don't think I was eating as much as I thought considering the scale hasn't moved nor the weight on the bar.

What side effects have you had with TRT? I was tested last spring and T was low. Tried to "naturally" bring it back but I know it's not. Haven't been back to for testing. Once on TRT though hair loss? You need to be on it for life due to body shutting down it's own Test production? At some point I'd like to start a family. Yes complete natty. I wouldn't say 4lbs a year over 5 year is very good? And at what point do you become "serious" or intermediate or advanced? I would say good form lifting has only been going on for about 1.5 years so am I still a beginner? I don't have any problem with protein supplements, I've just read multiple times that it's a waste to go beyond your 1g per lbs. I too struggled with this but has started to become more clear. Growing up fairly strict Catholic I had to dig through a lot of beliefs that were passed on, some good others needing adjustment. For me a lot of times it means taking on what the old me, the strict Catholic, would consider a hippie mindset to remind myself of my deeper purpose. Take a minute, literally; and just STFU and think about your next words very carefully. Process what exactly is being said and how it relates to what you were about to do. If it's worthwhile consider it. If it's not then fog, broken record, walk away, whatever. Your logic is no good to her here. We've got two conversations going on here but I agree there are women that don't go parading about their sexual achievements, as you put it. WHAT DO YOU WANT and WHAT CAN YOU LIVE WITH? Personally this would be a red flag for me. There's nothing wrong with a church girl she just might take a while to open up to the sexual flavors you're into, maybe not. I wouldn't marry crazy though and this might be crazy...per the Tiffany & hairdresser comment. Stereotypes exist for a reason.

Agree with this. I use calipers and they are roughly 2% off. I also take weekly pictures and compare where I was a year, month, and week ago to where I am now and it's easy to see. There is also a great new tool out called google where you can find BF% likely from people who had DEXA or whatever and can cross reference that. I have lost my love handles. My pants fit looser. I had abs on my cut and more visible veins and thanks to my iphone I can see I've lost some ab definition on my bulk but ha…

that's where the chief of towel police comment came from. that part was said with a smirk. only after I got to work I got pissed off and posted on reddit. got some flair and now have to manage a squadron of towels

Haha I'm with you up until respect my authority. There's no authority at play here. I can't force her to be nice in the morning.

nope. shit's in order. I asked her to fold towels like a week ago when she was watching tv...maybe that's what set her off? It's like u/FereallyRed posted on the stranger test. That's what I need to work on.

Just a head rinse this morning so 1 towel. 1 other on the drying rack. We got enough towels to open a small shop in the middle east

Initiating didn't even cross my mind. I just proceeded to get dressed and get ready for work. I found the whole thing unattractive.

I am going to avoid precisely this. I posted my emotions. I'm not seeking to punish her or blame her. I don't find it acceptable for anyone first thing in the morning to be a harpy, whether it's a co-worker or wife or whatever. I'm going to continue to be positive and laid back in my interactions with her but I also need to step up where I spend my time and attention.

Tv is a huge waste of time. I have slowly downgraded our cable and find myself less interested in what's on besides sports or a particular series. 3-4 hours a DAY. Read, write, build, run, lift, raise a child, paint, sing, hunt, fish, golf, clean, cook, meditate, call your family, literally go outside and breath the fucking air. Or be a TV drone..what a life.

OYS #3 30, W 29, married 1 year. No kids. Fitness 200 lbs, 13% BF Squat 275, Dead 285, Bench 205. BLS program. Working on bulk. Consistent in getting in the weight room. Basketball league started back up so getting in cardio now. Still enjoying alcohol, avoiding hangovers and junk food to keep the bulk clean as possible but could do better on the drinks. WISNIFG, NMMNG,MMSLP, Pook, TWOTSM, just started SGM. started listening to Pook audio for refresher SGM has been interesting to start. Keeping …

My wife is similar and like OP I don't like watching tv all the time either. We usually go for a walk, sit outside by the fire if it's nice out, but I also need to think of new ways to be more fun. Other times I just go do what I feel like doing, fixing something around the house, start a wood working project, read on a topic that interests me. The longer you try to change her behavior the more frustrated you'll become. Sometimes people just need to relax and watch some tv. I don't think you can…

This might be a stretch but in my OYS I talked about my wife's friends putting out plenty of IOI for me. I would guarantee it would be a desired filled night and I would get my "high" but why? Because I'm the fun fit guy their husband/boyfriend is not. My problem is I'm that fun fit guy for a night, I'm not that guy always and probably not a majority of the time. That's why I'm here and that's what my wife is saying. You can hang for a night you aren't worth it for a lifetime...yet. I have to be…

I know exactly what you're talking about. Same fucking boat maybe same dealer? It's frustrating as fuck and I'm sure someone else here has better advice on getting consistency. I do think though that searching for that desire is like searching for happiness..when you go looking you can't find it.

I think you're focusing too much on her lack of desire based upon how you measure desire. To her she might be desiring you but it's not matching your perception. I got one of the better bjs from my wife when I put a pillow over my eyes and played the "I can't see do what you want to me" Her insecurities of being watched or what the fuck ever, melted and she went at it much better than any other time. My current definition of desire is a wife that pulls my pants down in the kitchen and sucks it b…

My issue is that I “need” sex from a woman who has genuine desire. I'm with you on this part. I don't have an answer. I have experienced it from previous girlfriends more frequently and with my wife it is very inconsistent. I'm sure you've had similar. When I'm doing my best at focusing on my frame and keeping the ship in order I can get a reasonable performance out of her but seldom the pull my pants down and suck me in the kitchen because she just felt like it. Like many things here the more y…

OYS #2 30, W 29, married 1 year. No kids. Fitness 200 lbs, 13% BF Squat 275, Dead 285, Bench 205. BLS program. Working on bulk. This has been a rollercoaster after putting in the work to get down to 10% maybe even closer to 8% on the original BLS cut. It was nice having definition and abs but at 6'5" anything under 210 to me is skeleton the slow bulk is very slow, although my strength progression in the gym is noticeable, the mirror isn't showing size, just some additional fat. I will clean up t…

and accept that she might not go along with my leadership/direction at which point it's up to me to continue to course. Accepting that she can and will ignore my leadership regardless of the potential outcome is very frustrating but out of my control.

My frame fails as she knows my weak points especially when I am doing something better: working out, fixing the house, hosting a party. It never comes as a suggestion but more as a derailment of what I'm trying to accomplish and I second guess myself. This needs to stop. I have allowed her the reins once or twice before and she is definitely incapable. I am capable but not confident due to the shit testing. This goes back to being my own judge, sticking to my plans, and DNGAF. She is there to su…

Sometimes when the harpy is going it's a test of endurance. A barrage of "why, how come, why don't you, I don't think you should." STFU eventually becomes my autism when I don't DEER and just give her the "ok". As I work on lightening up my own mood I'll get better at AM. I am a oneitis case. Desire wasn't always lacking but knowing what I know now the inner slut was never really unleashed either. Again my fault as in the past I have been too in my head about my own sexual needs. That they wer…

OYS #1 30, W 29, married 1 year. No kids. Fitness 200 lbs, 13% BF Squat 275, Dead 285, Bench 205. BLS program. Deload this week. Continue bulk to 205. Reading WISNIFG, NMMNG,MMSLP, Pook, currently TWOTSM. TWOTSM has been good for acknowledging the masculine and not ignoring it. I don't want to cheat on my wife but being flirty, positive, and enjoying other women is something I'm allowed to experience. It was reassuring that men set a goal, accomplish it, and then set about another one. Life is a…
