My initiations still suck but I can tell her what I want when we are in the thick of things. She doesn’t always comply but she’s also a stubborn broad/a brat. Her saying no to something has never ruined a good time. I actually wish I was as OI as I am when we are fucking the rest of the time. I semi-worry about triggering her anxiety (you seem to be the expert on that) but it’s probably less likely if I tell her when she’s worked up in the moment vs before the fact where she can worry about it.

And this morning I wasn't planning on initiating but it was pretty apparent as she was laying on me I was hard as hell. I really didn't care either way. I could almost hear her hamster running, her breathing picked up and...nothing. I laid there a little while then got up to go do the morning routine. Later we were alone in the bathroom and she told me her IC is flaring up (which I know it has been the last week or so due to stress about one of the kids) and she got the tingles and excited and t…

What's your rejection ratio? Have you started initiating regularly now? If you're getting rejected regularly are you removing your time and attention and then resetting? My rejection ratio is probably 50%. I am not initiating often enough though. I do remove attention if I get a couple nos in a row. I’m still all up in her head sensing the mood constantly. I’m having a hard time knowing a soft no from a hard no. I might be missing opportunities for pushing through but she is so fucking stubborn …

Putting it up for all to see is the definition of you not doing this shit for you. You've weaseled out of commitments to others not because other people haven't held you accountable but because you haven't held yourself accountable. You've rebelled against those external motivators each time you weaseled out. I've fought my weight and health for most of my life. You know how I finally got it fixed? It wasn't a fucking whiteboard with goals that would make mommy proud, it was deciding that I was …

Relationship/Sex: I married the first chick I stuck my dick into though reading what some of you guys put with I feel like I won the fucking lottery. She has flaws and I’m not sure she’s a 5/5 on Dr. Glover’s chart for a Really Great Woman in his latest book but she’s a 4/5 so most days are pretty smooth. Some very positive sessions where I exerted more dominance and it was greeted with delight. She took her hair down at one point so I could pull it from behind. Good stuff. I don’t usually get “…

OYS #9 MRP Began April 2019 43 yo, 6’2”, 190, 14ish% BF, Wife 42, Married 19 years, together 25 years, two kids 10 and 14. Lifts: DL 375, SQ300, B245 Reading/Read (with takeaway/mini review): Unfu*k Yourself and Stop Doing that Sh*t, Gary John Bishop. These are pretty good. Not great or earth shattering, but good reminders and pretty motivating. They also made me dig into some uncomfortable places of my mind. I just got a third book of his called “Do The Work” which has exercises ala NMMNG to do…

First the dizziness is and electrolyte imbalance. You can fix that with no salt and salt and water or just look for keto electrolytes. Second keto isn’t some magic pill that makes crippled babies walk again or makes your dick longer. It is a good way for many people to eat at a deficit (sometimes extreme deficit) and not want to kill somebody. You eat less calories but feel more full. Third you absolutely can work our hard on keto and a deficit especially if you are a fat fuck BUT you’d be bette…

My wife does that stuff (also very Type A). I just reply “I know.” Her favorite: “it’s your decision” which is almost like her giving me permission to make the decision. Again I just say “I know.” Honestly you made me realize that she always hands me the remote now when I walk in, that never used to happen. She’s much more submissive in her actions than she’s ever been and that’s all that really matters.

I get it. I worry any action I take after rejection will be viewed as butthurt even if I’m not. I also get that I shouldn’t really give a fuck what she thinks. This is one of those areas of MRP that makes me austic. DGAF what she thinks but don’t appear butthurt seem contradictory at times since she’s the only person to witness if you’re butthurt or not so of course you care a bit that she not think that. But maybe you don’t and that’s where I’m getting hung up. I’m also austic on initiating in …

Wow I just read your 6 month OYS. That seemed eerily familiar. We have a lot in common from the personalities of our wives to the fact we both got attached at such an early age. I appreciate the glimpse into the future and congrats on the progress.

I appreciate waking up to read your advice especially after another shitty night's sleep feeling pissed off and depressed. I read and read and read but the internalizing is not going easily. I've got to get to that stoic response to the rejection. You're right the emotions are childish but I can't seem to quell the burning sensation and mix of fear and anger from the moment. Then I get the recursive anger at fucking something up cuz she won't fuck me and then questioning if am I fucking up my re…

Yup. Mine couldn’t even go to a McDonalds without freaking out. Now my shit is getting together any orgasm problems she had are gone. Even when she pops a klonoppin it happens now (it never did before MRP). I still think it affects her libido a bit but honestly at this point it’s a good trade off.

I started at 6’2” at 240 in Feb. Stopped eating shit. When I got to 225 I switched to lean gains. I’ve done keto before and I go into ketosis rather easily but obviously never kept it off. Sticking to lean gains I got down to 200ish which is where you want to be but I discovered I was still a fat ass. And I was stuck. Scale wouldn’t move so I said fuck it and went on PSMF which is keto on steroids. Psmfdiet.com and there is a sub here if you don’t want to by Lyle McDonald’s book. 5 weeks later I…

Meh. For me that’s just my wife flirting. There’s nothing to win except tagging that ass later so why would I be upset? Even if your wife really is being a bitch if you just approached it like she was flirting your response or non-response would be better.

Vetting assumes on some level that people will remain static. After 25 years with my wife I can assure you both our belief systems and personalities have changed dramatically. It appears to be working out pretty well though and the last few months of MRP and slowly enforcing boundaries has been very positive for both of us, but it easily could have gone the other way. There is no way 18 year old me could even understand the life 40 something me has now. But I also know 18 to 30 something me thou…

I chose Krav Maga and my studio is awesome but I do hear it can be a real mixed bag. We spar quite a bit and our main guy has trained in a bunch of other martial arts and shows us different methodologies in addition to the KM way. We definitely get used to taking punches and kicks and there is some ground work. I was more about hitting shit than rolling around with dudes so BJJ wasn’t really my bag. If my current situation wasn’t working I’d probably do Muay Thai.

Thanks for this. We’re told not to go Rambo and the STFU and lift but I’m definitely paying the price right now for going Rambo with my lifting. I think most of my pain and issues now are early onset arthritis I’ve had since my 30s aggravated by bad form and over doing it. Definitely saving this post.

I appreciate posts like this and the advice to talk to someone but I also think it's far too easy for people to try to "logic" others out of mental illness. "Look man be rational, get a grip" can work if someone is open to change but I know from personal experience and that of family members it's really not that simple. Getting to the point someone wants to change or get better isn't always as simple as a pep talk, and truly there an be a chemical imbalance in the brain in many cases that just g…

As many have said, getting the weight off should be #1 priority. Once I got to 15% and then slightly below (those last 5% are gonna kill me) my wife started looking at me like meat. I've said in other posts in the last 30 or so days she's made noises in bed I've never heard before and I've fucked her for 25 years now. Still not anywhere close to where I want to be, but she sure as hell isn't telling me not to touch her. So right now google LeanGains and intermittent fasting. I don't know how old…

Thanks for the reply. Incline press, barbell rows and pull ups hurt the most. My left side in particular. I moved to trap bar rows which helped having the grip in that position. Usually at the end of working out they feel pretty good but the next day not so much. I do some warm up exercises on them every time I lift. Punching at Krav Maga drives them nuts too. I ice, take Advil occasionally and do some rehab and mobility exercises. I'm about to lay off for a week or more for my deload while I'm …

So the Horns post is really good and excellent advice. I too am married to a woman on an SSRI (as am I) and I went through years of just accepting that she had no libido because of the drugs, cursing my situation, hanging out in the DeadBedrooms sub etc. Then I found this place 12 weeks ago, read the sidebar and really started to lift seriously and got down to under 15% body fat. Now she gives me blow jobs and hand jobs somewhat regularly if I just show her my cock and last night I fucked her ha…

Yeah weigh everything. Make sure if you are weighing cooked food you are logging cooked food because most apps show the info as raw which can be off by as much as 25%. I weigh my cereal and ice cream even now that my macros are a little more relaxed. When in doubt, chicken and broccoli until you are sick of it! Also if you are drinking alcohol stop or take breaks, that can slow you down big time even if you are counting the calories and accounting for them.

So weight loss isn’t linear and if you are like me (I’m 42 6’2” and started at 238) you will discover your body has certain set points where you just can’t seem to bust through a certain weight. As you get closer to your goal weight you will find these points become more frequent. Why does this happen? Some people think even though you’ve lost the fat your body fills those empty cells with water. This is the reasoning Lyle McDonald uses for people on his Rapid Fat Loss diet which is a Protein Sp…

This hit a chord with me because my wife would do this shit to me all the time, withhold sex because I didn't "deserve it." My "vice" was porn not smoking but she'd totally make me feel like shit and turn into a blubbering mess where I promised I'd do better and be a better boy when I "slipped up" and whacked it to porn after not getting any for days/weeks/whatever when I was in my 20s and basically a walking erection. Think it’s MMSLP and yeah my wife craves my cum inside her which makes me even more confused about the lack of frequency. She locks me in super tight with her legs if I’m on top to get it as deep as possible. She loves me dripping out of her the next day, and on occasions she gives me a handjob and I finish on myself she says she wishes it was in her. Then we will go 5 weeks without sex, I don’t get it. Some others here have recommended the chapters on code, mission and goal development from the Unchained Man book https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HCZ97F5/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?_encoding=UTF8&btkr=1 I read through it last night and it's pretty good and might be just what you need to get focused on something. Good point. I know he does and no doubt ours affect us a bit. However she will fuck me everyday on vacations and getaways so I have some hope. I got stuck doing carb cycling and IF (basically LeanGains but much lower carb). I’m running PSMF /r/PSMF and first week hasn’t been too bad. Lifts haven’t dropped yet, but I’d rather focus on getting down on BF before I worry too much about getting swole. Dropped about 4lbs first week, and I had already been nearly Keto before so it wasn’t just water. Might give you the push you need to get through.
