Ok, so none of that is relevant. All emotionally charged, subjective rhetoric. Do you have any idea how laws are written? Or how sentencing standards are created? Theft is generally misdemeanor because there is no risk of death or physical harm. Armed robbery has a huge risk of death or violence, therefore it has to carry a large sentence to act as a deterrent. Try analyzing things objectively and impartially. It' fun :)

Way to analyze the cases with tunnel vision. Look up the actual crimes and their respective sentences. Robbery is a 2nd degree felony punishable by 2 to 20 years. If he had a weapon, its 1st degree and 5 to life. If he had a record, there are minimum sentences.
