Girl scouts is really shit in comparison though. As a scout, I support the idea that girls can join, but I would maintain a all of the strict standards. My troop was a high adventure crew, and I firmly believe they all should be; if a potential scout can't make it as they are, they stay home.

You're off base there. Assault is a crime because it's an action meant specifically to cause fear. This doesn't mean that the right to feel safe is a thing; it means that someone isn't allowed to purposefully fuck with you like that. It's completely possible to feel safe in a dangerous situation or feel unsafe in a safe one. Assault laws don't enshrine feelings.

Well he presumably had just arrested the driver, and was probably planning to do a search for drugs in the car afterwards, and she said she was gonna take a hike if she got out of the car. Whatever else is going on, that is a big red flag.
