I loved Civ 2 and 3 like you wouldn't believe. Then I remembered about 1 Corinthians 13:11 and I became a man.

Now you see the damage done by 100 years of corruption to our culture.

The correct answer is no, but one-word answers aren't allowed here.

I see no reason why you can't go into software engineering and still go play outside on weekends. It will probably be enough.

Well, it won't be 5000 words about my feelings and what I think that I think I know; I promise. Thanks for the kind words, though.

Happy to explain. My purpose was to show that the post was too long to finish, which is another way of saying that it didn't make me interested or engage me soon enough. Go ask the pro copywriter whose comment above is the most-upvoted if I'm right.

Soliloquy too long. Didn't read.

"Daytime is for selling. Nighttime is for working." "The only thing you can control in business is your own effort; and sales cure everything." Both of those are from Mark Cuban, so I'm holding my nose as I type them. But they are absolute must- read, must-know and must-practice items for new businesses.

I concur but don't agree. Green.

Understood. I answered with what I would do because that's what you asked.

Have a couple of kids, or a divorce , and you're right back in the rat race.

Getting permanently rich. $150,000 a year isn't what it used to be.

Right, on both counts.

Yes. Everyone does. Thanks for keeping your soliloquy under 2000 words, though.

Fake it until you get your degree and get out. Conservatives haven't managed to conserve anything in past 50 years anyway.

You have a skill for working with people over the telephone. Now go find a job making sales over the telephone. You'll make at least twice what you make now in your first year even if you're average.

Go into commissioned sales. You're essentially running your own businesses that way, and your startup costs will be negligible. Moreover, if you can't sell you will fail in any business you start in any field. Two things to memorize. They're from Mark Cuban, but still 100℅ valid: 1.) If you need a loan to start your business then your idea sucks. 2.) Daytime is for selling, nighttime is for everything else.

They almost never work and you're constantly spending money on them. This applies to boats too.
